OK so I got my Boingo's today and I think they're pretty cool! There's a learning curve, for sure LOL And I found that they begin to stretch pretty easy if you take it really slow and stretch a tiny bit at a time. I've heard they can break easily and I can see how, but after I took my time and stretched them gently, I think they'll last a long time. Could be wrong...we'll see! Here's my first attempt, OUCH! Poor boy bits...

From the side:

Second attempt to get it more secure...not much better:

Third attempt, at bedtime; I had a revelation: put it further on the hips and less on the front of the diaper. It worked magically!

I'm REALLY looking forward to him waking up so we can try them out more tomorrow! I will post more pics too Thumbs Up

More pics: Before (put a cover over it):

AFTER: Much better!!! Clap

Here's a comparison of the Boingo to a Snappi; they're almost identical!

I think Boingo's are sharper though...William was coverless and it worked until he slid off his bed and snagged the Boingo on his quilt and tore it! CryAngry He's snagged Snappis on things before but they just caught, never tore. His poor quilt!

Here is a brand new green Boingo out of the package, never been stretched. Next to it is the blue Boingo I've been using for 24 hours straight. Wow, look at the place where the black claw part meets the rubber part. It stretched the hole longer and once it reaches a certain point I know I won't be able to continue using it because the black part could come loose.

Interesting. I use flats and the wings wrap around really far so I just don't think these will be in the future for us. They are an interesting design though.

What do you think about coverless? Could they come loose just as easily as a snappi?

Oh yeah, they did not work well coverless. After 8 minutes it was falling off him! But with a cover they work great! He'll be in them all day and I'll be sure to take more pics right *before* a change.

wasn't that their big selling feature, that they were supposed to be good coverless vs. the snappi?

Yes...but they're exactly the same. The prongs are identical that I can tell. Confused I'll take pics of that too, when I get a minute.

bumping for more pics and comparisons.

Overall I really do like the Boingo's a lot! They work well after you get them all figured out and so far no breaks. I think they need some tweaking and would love to try Boingo's after a few more prototypes come out. I'll keep using the ones I got until they wear out though, and then recycle them. Thumbs Up

I think she is listening to everyone's feedback and trying to change the design now that she knows they are stretching/breaking easily and quickly.

I'm really confused why they didn't test them longer and/or use a small test group. They certainly would have figured this out first and saved a lot of headache!!!

I think they are a great idea, just not ready for mass consumption yet. :)

They look cute, but I think I'll stick with the tried and true snappi. :)

ITA!! She never should have taken orders for a product that wasn't tested and tested again with different prototypes. Not too smart since so many people are having problems with them; if that happened to me I'd ask for my money back, but obviously she can't go and give EVERYONE their money back now. Oh well, I really like them for the price and cuteness, and they function fine once you learn how to use them. I'm just being careful.

How are they working out for you Jessica now that you've had them for a month? I just got mine today. A bit of a learning curve for sure. I've only used them on bamboo terry and it was a challenge to get the claws to grab.

Thanks for the review and pics! I figured they'd be about the same as the snappi as far as not beng safe coverless. I just don't see how anything with claw teeth could really be safe uncovered on a little one. That's smart how you placed them farther back. They're a bit bigger than I was expecting too, but with the 2 pieces I guess that means they'd be virtually impossible to outgrow.

I still like them Tongue But...I don't use them much because we use Workhorses almost exclusively these days...just easier to put on the LO and go! They haven't stretched out much more than the pic above though, which is good. Mine haven't broken either. I won't order more simply because they don't match up with our style of cloth diapering, but I do recommend them, once the kinks are worked out with the materials breaking, etc.

I sold a NIP set I had and I gave away my used set. I wasn't a big fan. Lovely concept and really cute design, I just wasn't a fan of the function.

I much prefer to just kite fold a flat and use one pin.

I think she's getting glitter ones and some smaller ones soon though. I wish well for her though. :)

I have some of the originals. I don't use them very often but I prefer them to a Snappi for a boy. DS complains that his boy bits hurt when I use a Snappi. That said, every single time I use the boingo overnight it ends up unhinged. I'm surprised we haven't had an injury yet. Pretty close though. It could very well be user error but they don't really work for us.

I just got mine the other day and I had the same problem! But I was thinking that I hadn't stretched them well enough. I'm going to keep trying.

Interesting to read this, that's the one thing I really like, I HAVEN'T had them come undone yet...although I'm using them on a two month old with gauze flats...so it's a pretty easy job I guess :)

I thought about trying these, but I am really good with a snappi so I see no reason to switch!  I have never had an injury or had one come undone.  Never used them coverless, though.  They never seemed to bother my boy either.  I'll probably just stick with what has worked for us for over 4 years!
