I've started sorting through boxes of ds's clothes in preparation for the new
Baby. I keep finding all these stains (yellowy colour) on them that werent there when i packed them away. Is this weird or do sometimes stains show up during storage time??? They are mostly on sleeves and necklines, maybe from spit up? Ds was ebf and all his clothes were packed away clean and stain free! I used some stain remover and have all of it in the wash now. Hope it comes out clean!!!!

Sam thing happened to me when I pulled DS1's baby clothes out for DS2. I guess it's a pretty common occurrence.   I soaked in oxyclean and most came out.

Yeah, I tried shout or something like that first, but it didn't seem to do much. So I bought some oxiclean and am in the process of searching for my soaking bucket!

I looked online and apparently it's the proteins in breast milk breaking down... so weird though that they show up that much later!

Yeah the satins come out after sitting for a while. A hot wash with oxi should get you stain free.
Sont worry the stains won't return once they're in use and are out in air. Besides for the new babies stains :)
Good luck and congrats!

The same thing happened to me when I unpacked stuff from DS1 for DS2, and when I unpacked stuff from DS2 for a friend's DS! It was frustrating to find so many cute things w/ stains on them! I don't even save the visibly stained stuff, so to have the stuff I *did* save stained was annoying! I hope it all comes out for you! GL :)  Oh and the sun works wonders too if you have any right now!

Yes, I was thinking I'd hang the stuff out on the line if the oxi-clean doesn't take it all out completely! Hopefully there will be some sun!

Glad to read this!  I was just about to donate a bunch of fall/winter stuff that has mysterious stains I didn't see when packing up originally.

Good to know that oxi clean and the sun can get most of them out.  Our baby girl clothes have a lot of those mysterious stains and they are so cute if we have another girl I didn't want to get rid of all of the stained things!

Hmm. I was just going to ask about this...
It is really frustrating because I am so careful to keep the baby stuff stain-free and pack it up in pristine condition, and then you pull it out and it looks like a spotty disaster. I am going to do an oxy soak and hope for the best.
