I have to drive nearly 45 minutes to get to a bookstore.  I have been looking at the Nook Color (not the regular Nook) recently.  I like all the features and that it's like a huge version of my EVO phone.  Which would you buy and why?

I just added in the iPad with the Nook app.  DH threw out that suggestion.  Though not sure if the app operates the exact same as it would on the Nook Color.  So toss that one in too.  It's no that much more than the Nook Color would be with the 2 year protection plan.

We got an iPad because it supports both Kindle and Nook apps, plus a few more (both of which are free). Some books you can only find on one system and we didn't want to be limited. So far I've mostly used it to 'Pin, though.

I like the regular nook for just reading. We have an iPad as well. So if you want something that is colored and has lots of other purposes, I would recommend the iPad (we have 1.0). But for just simple reading, the regular nook is great. I think the color version uses a different ink system and even the guy at BnN recommended the regular version if your goal is just reading.

I would go with the iPad :)  That way you have all the benefits of it, plus the nook or kindle apps.

Okay, so the iPad is out.  I just can't fathom getting one.  I have an iPod, an iMac, an Apple laptop, and my EVO totally rocks.  I just can't chunk down $400-500 dollars for something that I have covered with everything else.  I am totally leaning toward the Nook Color.  I love the interactive stuff for the kids and I can play Angry Birds on a bigger screen.

I have a regular Nook and love it.  I think it is the only option of the ones you mentioned that lets me borrow books from my local library too.  That was the big selling point for me.  The library software for reading doesn't work on Mac products (yet).

I have a Nook Color and LOVE it. I got it for the same reason as Linda - I can get books from the library (although I've yet to find an ebook from the library w/out 12 or more people waiting for it!). I got the color because I wanted to use it for fun kids books too eventually. And the bonus is that now there are apps avaliable for it and more will become avaliable in the future.

Dylan has the Nook color. (Grandpa rocks!) We love it. We have the ability to get the Kindle bboks as well and yes they play angry birds on the bigger screen. I like the colored children's books that will read to Riley. And Dylan can use it to Facebook or for a few other mom approved websites. The newest update has the flash player so he can do more than he could a month ago. I'm tempted to splurge on one for myself.

What are your favorite things to do w/  your Nook Color?  How much web access do you have?
What is the difference between say an Ipad and a Nook?

Nook Color has flash and the ipad doesn't.  Big drawback for us.  We use flash for so much stuff.
