Carrie, if you are using cotton on the market bag, don't make the handle too long... it will stretch! :)

Glad the hat is going better Meghan!

I am using cotton. You knit both side of the handle and did a 3 needle BO at the top right? What did you do with the extra yarn? I have working yarn on each side of the handle now. DO I cut one and treat it like any other end to weave in? I am almost to that point and am really confused. Thanks!

I'm trying to remember, but the preggo brain is just not helping anything!!!  I *think* I just left it and then weaved it in after I did the 3 needle BO.  There will be a little seam on the underside of the BO but the owner of my LYS thought that this BO would be much stronger than a kitchner since the bag will theoretically hold a decent amount of weight.  HTH a little!

Oh and thank you Meghan! The 3 needle BO was easy and it does feel pretty sturdy. Thanks for your help!

Great projects, Carrie!

We're about to have dinner (black bean soup) and then I'll be working on the hat a little more.  Hope everyone has a great night!

Hi all! We had an exhausting day - DH and I delivered almost 200 bales of hay, just the 2 of us None of the guys who usually work with us were available and we can't exactly turn away customers. We made burgers and fries for dinner (not at all a normal dinner for us) and it was delicious :)

Carrie - you are a knitting machine! The mitts and market bag look great - good luck with the next pair of socks :)

Meghan - I hope you guys have a nice evening!

It's almost time to put Z to bed and then DH and I are going to watch a movie. I might knit a bit on the sleeve of Z's sweater since it's mindless and I really wanted to finish it this weekend. Hope everyone has a good night!

I'm kind of around, but getting super uncomfortable and grumpy.  Direct%20Link%20To%20This%20Post Here's my thread in P&C.  I was kind of hoping that yesterday was going to be a fluke day and I'd go on to feel better, but I really don't, and I'm not used to being so far from my due date and feeling so physically and emotionally drained and ready.

On the plus side: I finished putting a wool jersey soaker lining into one of the sleepsacks.  It was surprisingly easy.  Now I have one more to go.  After that I if I have energy this week I plan to start crocheting some nb. longies since I crochet much faster.  I think I'll save knitting for fancier yarn and things in size S, so they'll last longer.

Christina, Wow!  That is a lot of hay to move!  I bet you got a good night of sleep last night!

Christine, sorry you're feeling so ready so early this time around.  But WTG on the sleepsack!  It sounds great!  I agree with saving the nice yarn for when it will last.  I think I'm going to make one sleepsack out of MM but save my MK coop yarn and the rest of the MM for small or med longies/shorties.  And do a NB pair of longies out of a skein of Cascade 220 I just picked up.  Thanks for reminding me to save the fancy stuff for later!

Hi gps!  Still feeling good?

Got a good bit done on the hat last night and I am back to where I was before I frogged!  I'm going to work on it a bit tonight too.

I need to order a long cable for MLing (hats and maybe soakers/longies)  from KP for my interchangables.  What length do you think I should go with?  I think I read a 47" would work well???  I have a gift card... should I order a few different sizes for the shipping (I don't think I'll hit the $50 free shipping this order, although I could if I tried hard enoughWink )?

Sorry you are so uncomfortable Christine. ((hugs)) My chiro was my best friend esp. near the end. I remember feeling like my pubic bone was going to crack in half. He helped a lot. I hope you get some relief. WTG on getting the sleep sack done.

Meghan, I have heard that 47 inches is great for MLing socks. I think 40 inches was the size that some of the mamas use for longies, but I will let them confirm since I am not sure. Wink Hooray for getting so much done on the hat! I hope it is going better this time for you.

gps, still thinking about you. ((hugs))

I use 40" circulars for MLing, but there are times I wish I had 47s.

Hi ladies! Another busy day here - grocery shopping, furniture shopping (ordered a new desk), and then I cleaned our room (2 bags of clothes for goodwill and everything's pretty organized for the first time in like a year I'm having to give up the closet where I keep al my crafty stuff since it's the closet in Z's new room which we're trying to get ready for him [:s} I cleaned out a dresser in our room which now houses my yarn and I put all my fleece into bins until I figure out what to do with it all. Exhausted again, to say the least. I'm going to make a bowl of ice cream and sit on the couch to finish up Z's sweater (hopefully).

Please excuse all the typos in my last post, I'm too tired to fix them

gps - hope you're holding up okay.

Meghan - wow, you must be a fair isle pro by now! Can't wait to see the finished product. I usually use 40" for MLing, but I think 47" would be great too.

Hi Carrie :) Hope you had a good day :)

Christine - hang in there! Sorry you're having a rough time

Hope you enjoy your ice cream and quiet knitting time Christina! You deserve it after all of that work!

gps, you are such an enabler! LOL That would make a versatile pair of shorties b/c it would match so many colored t-shirts.

Just about to the heel flap on the sock. I think I am going to try to get some sleep tonight. Rough day emotionally today. I took a nice walk after church and it helped a lot. Now we are getting a bunch of snow after not having much to speak of for at least a month. I wonder if school will be cancelled...
