some great books on there, and some i've not heard of! you know, i've never read the piggle wiggle books, and laurie has mentioned them too--they are on my to-read list now! i never really got into roald dahl. though we did read james and the giant peach in the first grade, and i remember being very impressed with it, though can't remember anymore than that.
i can't wait to read chapter books with the kids! rowan is getting very close--we read the original thomas stories, which he loves. anyway, fun, thanks emily! |

The Little House Series by Laura Ingalls Wilder
- To explain where I'm from, I say that I'm from "Little House on the Prairie" (to be honest I have stronger memories of the show than the books though, but I enjoyed both) The Boxcar Children’s Series by Gertrude Chandler Warner Love these! Amelia Bedelia Series by Peggy Parish We only have a few, but I read them to our kids a lot! Always loved them! Piggle-Wiggle by Betty MacDonald Wonderful!!!!!!Anne of Green Gables by Lucy Maud Montgomery EmilyM adores these! Peter Pan by J.M. Barrie Awesome! The Wizard of Oz by L. Frank Baum cool! The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe by C.S. Lewis my favorite as a kid Charlotte’s Web by E.B. White loved it Peter Rabbit by Beatrix Potter we read it to our kids and enjoy it together The Velveteen Rabbit by Margery Williams makes me cry! The Secret Garden by Frances Burnett loved so many of her books as a kid! Roald Dahl, although a prat personally, is one of my favorite authors hands down. We own all of his children's books, I think, but the adult books can be skipped. Oh and if you don't want to know what he was like a person, skip his bio. Beverly Cleary was a favorite when I was a kid. What a fun list your cousin has! Memory lane is fun!!! Thanks for sharing!!! |
