So, I've been stalking diaper bag threads like they are going out of style... and I keep seeing two that stand out. I've also checked them out a little online and I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts as to which one I should buy..

I'm planning on Cd'ing..and I'm new at this...so I'm sure I will want to pack everything but the kitchen sink.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.. TIA
Amanda

I have the lands end bag. I love it. It's good quality and has lots of pockets to keep things organized. In the newborn stage I think a large diaper bag is great cause you really need to be extra prepared when you are out. As your little one gets older and needs less diaper changes and things you may not need such a large bag. Like now if me and the girls are just running out for a short trip (2 hours or less) I just put a few dipes/wipes/wetbag in my purse and am good. Since Kalea is the only one in dipes. When we go out for longer periods I always bring it. Plus babe number 3 will be here in December and with 2 in dipes it will be used daily again for long and short trips.  I think if you do decide on the lands end bag you can count on it standing up to the use of more children if you plan on more so for the money it is a great investment.

I'm another proud owner of the Lands End bag. It's great for CDing... very roomy and lots of pockets to organize things.

Well I have both which are not being used right now because dd is PT.  But I like both for different reasons.  Like pp said, the do it all is nice and big for a newborn, and I found it great for trips to play group or Grandma's house.  However, I found it rather large and bulky for carting around during errands.

I also have the Skip Hop Dash and like it a lot.  It's smaller and more streamlined, and has lots of organizational pockets.  I didn't have it when dd was a newborn, but I find I can stuff it pretty good.

HTHs!

Thanks! All the feedback really does help. I think that I'm going to start off with the Land's End, especially for in the beginning while I'm trying to figure out cd'ing and until I get a little bit more experience under my belt and am comfortable not carrying everything around with me.

And I think I will end up getting the skip hop later too. For quick trips...

I remember when I first came on here to find the perfect cloth diaper, I'm now addicted and have one of everything...it will be the same with diaper bags now too. Someone keep me away from the stollers!!

Thanks again!

I am taking the opposite approach.  I am starting with the Skip Hop Dash and may get the Lands End one for once she starts DC if I need to cart around a full days diapers each day.

I really wanted to get a Skip Hop because I liked the design and liked how they hang on stroller handles, until I realized that you have to completely detach the shoulder strap to be able to hang it on the stroller, so it's not really easy to grab and go if you need to.  Seems silly.  I have the Lands End and like a pp said, it's great for the newborn stage or long outings, but daily I use a smaller diaper bag.  I have an Eddie Bauer one from BRU that someone gave us, but I'd like to get the Lands End Little Tripper.

If you're going to be bringing CDs to and from daycare, what I do is leave a nylon bag I got from the camping section at Walmart in the diaper pail at school and I take the clean and dirty diapers to and from school in another bag.  I use the same one because they're BG's and they wrap them up for me like disposables, so the inside of the bag doesn't get dirty really when I take them home.  I use that and a bottle "cooler" I got from BRU for DS's milk.

i have a skip hop. it's okay. you can't get a whole lot in it. i've packed it for airplane flights before, though. in that situation i can get just about a simple day's worth of of necessities. oh and the plus is that it hangs on your stroller.

Now I'm tempted... I think I could get both the do it all and the little tripper for about the same cost as just the skiphop. Thanks for mentioning that one, I hadn't heard about the little tripper yet! Too many decisions!!

That's a great idea- get the DIA and the Tripper Smile  I think you'll be all set.  Really have a bag that "attaches" to the stroller is not different from hanging your bag on it.

I think that is what I'm going to do. When you mentioned that you have to take off the strap to attach it to the stroller, that kinda turned me off. And I remember a momma a while ago posted a pic of her do it all hanging on her stroller... so I'm excited now. Thanks for all of your help everyone, I really appreciate it!

Now I just need to stop chickening out and click "check out" and buy the darn things!

i just want to add that i was using a maclaren twin while using the skip hop, so i never used the internal clips for attaching it to the stroller, i just extended the strap over the handles and it worked perfectly that way.

Thanks! That is what I was planning on doing anyway...It looks snazzy in the pictures online with it attached to the stroller, but knowing that you can't just remove it and go, I don't think I would attach it that way and just hang it like you said.

I've been online all night looking all of them up. I think getting the land's ends sounds like a good plan, but I'm so indecisive. Honestly, I don't think I've made a decision since I found out I was pregnant...all of my decision making abilities left the moment of conception!

I did find one store in town that sells the skiphop, so I think I'm going to go look at in person and hopefully that will help me decide.

Thanks again!

Oh, a plus for the Lands End is the light colored lining inside- why don't they do this with all diaper bags?  It's great.

I think the land's end looks like a good deal, and for the price of the skip hop you can get both the big bag and the little day bag. (like pp mentioned). if I had to do it over, I'd conisider the L.end option.

I have both as well, we've gone through a couple of diaper bags so far.  I find that I love the skip hop when we are only going to be out for a few hours, it holds 3 or 4 diapers fairly well, a change of clothes, a few wipes, a wetbag and a burp cloth.  If we are out for more then a couple of hours though I need something bigger.  The land's end do it all or my huge backpack work well then, since I can fit almost a full days worth of diapers in them, so we are good to go for 4 to 6 hours (with 8ish diapers in it, I have a very pee happy baby).

I don't know if you have a Marshall's where you live, but I was able to find a Fleurville Sling tote for $45.  I love it for one kid and it doesn't scream "diaper bag" when you carry it.  It also has rings for draping it on a stroller.

I have the Lands End DOIA bag, but I'm saving it for when I have two in diapers (which should've happened six days ago).  It is BIG.

I can't comment on the skip hop bag, but I'm a HUGE fan of the Lands End diaper bags.

I was given a LE gift certificate and I couldn't decide between the Little Tripper, the Do-it-all and the Backpack diaper bags, so in the end, I got all 3!!

I love having 3 to choose from.  I live in the country so every trip out is at least 2 hours.  If I'm going to grandma's house all day or something, I take the DOITALL.  If I'm going shopping at the mall, I take the Backpack and if I'm just going grocery shopping or the park, I take the Little Tripper.  It is great that the Backpack and the Little tripper can be worn and leave me hands free. The Doitall, also can be worn but not as comfortably for long periods. I just wear it to and from the car.

Like the other posters were saying, at the newborn stage, you want a bigger bag.  Right now, I keep the small blue bag from the DoitAll in my car and keep a change of clothes for my DD in it at all times.  That way, if I only have 1 extra dipe w/ me in my LT, I still have some clothes if I need them for her.

I love having all 3! and for the price, you can afford to buy all 3!

So...I did it. I found a store locally that carries Skip Hop and so I bought one. It was on sale...and since I found it locally it was no shipping!

I'm still thinking that I am going to get the do it all. The skip hop seems to be a decent size, but I can't imagine going much smaller...and I think I will use the do it all to trips to grandma's and such like ya'll mentioned.

Thanks a ton for all of the help! I finally have a diaper bag! woohooo!
