Surprise, surprise. S, who is maybe 27lbs, outgrew L Sandy's! It doesn't matter the setting, they have been making snap marks on his hips & thighs. Luckily, I have some Toddle-ease on hand. They are bulky, but get the job done for coverless time around the house. I think he needs a longer rise, even though his waist & thighs are thin. I also have some L Clovers. Anybody remember those? I wish they had more built-in absorbency, because they really are nice dipes. It's nice to pull the fitteds up & down when they get to this age, and it gets hard when you have a doubler in there.
So, is your LO on the way to the next size?

It seems like they outgrow pf. sizes overnight. Think you could buy a little time by pad-folding, or would that not work w/ your covers?

I can still pad-fold our orange edges with some success and it would work fine w/ the infant pfs, but I must have super-pooping children b/c I always have ebf poo leaks when I pad fold (even w/ gusseted covers) or try to use pockets. I have a hefty stash of BG pockets that fit, but I can only use them when I am fairly certain he is done pooping for the day.

Little Dude is finally outgrowing his red edge WH dipes. I can still fasten them on him no problem but the rise is getting too short.

DS is outgrowing his premium Tinkle Traps already. They still fit ok, but the rise is getting lower than I like on him.
I'm a little sad. I haven't had them for that long, but he is pushing 30lbs now. I'm pretty sure I don't want to fork out the cash to replace them with toddler TTs or green Workhorses. I still have MEOS and L Sandy's that fit well and lots of flats and prefolds. I'll miss prefitteds, but I think we're set.

DS has outgrown A LOT in the past fer months. Many of our fitteds and even toddler prefolds can only be pad folded. A lot of AIO's and pockets as well. Sigh. He is asking to use the potty here and there so I think we'll get by until he PL's. I will miss diaper days :(

EVERYTHING!
Seriously, DS2 is wearing bigger diapers (in sposies) than DD or DS1 ever did. He only turned 2 a couple of months ago, but I really need this kiddo to PL/PT! He is still fitting in some old Toddler sized FBs that have completely shot elastic and our OS Knickernappies, but he is on the last snaps of both. Amazingly, he still fits in the Kawaii baby OS pockets - I assumed they would fit about like a BG but he outgrew his BGs months ago. So, either he needs to use the potty soon, or get a job to buy some more diapers! |

That is kind of crazy about S outgrowing L Sandys! whoa!
K just outgrew small sandys a few months ago, and our premium tinkle traps are shot after 3+ kids and daily abuse, so we're relying on our 10 large sandys, 10 GMs, and a bunch of red-edge prefolds. I daydream about getting more large sandys (and more small sandys for the newbie) but we'll probably just stick with what we have instead. I'm reluctant to sew the rest of our prefolds into prefitteds since they're more versatile as prefolds. |

Outgrowing lots here, too. Our L Loveybums fitteds can still do the trick, but the rise is really much too short. I haven't been able to fasten red edge PFs in forever, but they still do well trifolded, esp. with a doubler. I just don't like the bulk of brown edge unless it's nap time.
So DH tends to grab for Swaddlebees Simplex Size L when diapering DD. I told him that I ordered the cow print for her (she loves to moo ). He replied, "Well I hope you got it in the next size up.". Oops. Lol. Sorry Honey, Swaddlebees doesn't make it in XL. But they totally should! DD is just 21 months and almost 34 lbs. I decided that we won't be replacing our fitteds, so it's going to be only flats and PFs with covers once she outgrows the AIOs. I have a Peachy Green AIO on the way. It says to 35 lbs., but the rise was listed as a little longer. So, hoping that's a good solution for us. Sigh. Aren't you so glad you asked? Edited to remove multiple flashing emoticons. Why didn't they seem that obnoxious when I previewed? Edited by amymcg97 - 06 Aug 2012 at 11:47pm |

The Capri size 1 and the Duo size 1 she has outgrown and the small DE and FN are getting small. We are still in small flats but wonder if we could size up on those but love the trimness of the smalls.

Babysmiles is about to outgrow infant everything I have! Prefolds, covers and fitteds. Oh, except the infant Workhorses! We still have a few more weeks out of them I think, but I need to start trifolding a premie prefold to add in for more absorbency. I think we'll use flats until the small prefolds fit a little better.
Toddlersmiles is outgrowing a few covers and the random 2 GMs that we have. Might be time to retire those as they are balding and the elastic is on it's way out... |

I wish Swaddlebees made an xl too. I just bought some new covers and a few more prefolds and inserts and that is working fine. The Capri size 2 is a really great fitting cover. Ds is about 40 lbs and they fit him with lots of room. Maybe they have a moo print. |

Squirt is finally outgrowing her small BGAIO's. She's been wearing them for nearly 10+ months, probably!

DD finally just grew out of her red edge workhorses at 15 months. She wore that size for nearly a year! We're now using prefolds, small and large Sandys, and 2 brown edge workhorses.

Very good to know. We may need to add a few covers if she continues to grow at this rate. I know so many Mamas are really happy with them. They sound like a great cover. |

Not outgrowing anything right now (for once). But I feel like a vulture soaring over the savanaha right now, hoping to spot something of interest (on FSOT)...

Looks like we're ready to move up to medium Thirsties now, too. I put a small on Squirt today and the rise is just a tad too short, and it's getting tight on her thighs. And I know I said she was outgrowing her small BGs, but she's still wearing them. They won't last much longer, though... I don't think.

DS is outgrowing all his newborn stuff; he is two months and already 14 lbs. So adios to my Rumparooz newborn cover, and I am on the last couple of snaps on the Capri size one covers. Still getting by pretty well with my small flats, though and I have plenty of Grovia covers to keep things going until I find some space in the budget to buy some size 2 Capris. I love those covers over everything. Pinned flats, padfolded flats, prefolds, fitteds, it doesn't matter. I take solace in the fact that my first two chunky monkeys thinned out when they became mobile. DD wore size medium in just about everything from 4 months to PL. I honestly don't think I ever changed her snap down rises off the middle setting, except for night-time bulk.
