One of my best friends is due in a week and she just mentioned that she has no sweaters!  Obviously she can't tell me that the baby girl who might as well be my niece is in need of something I can knit  So spam me with your favorite baby girl sweater patterns as well as summer-weight, easy to care for yarn options.

I LOVE cotton for sweaters, KP's Shine is great, nice and soft kinda silky. Comfy is awesome too, just not silky like Shine.

I'm on my phone now so I can't get you the link but on Rav there's a pattern Little Scapulae that I ilove! It makes a little shrug, sooo cute! There's a free one which is 12-18 months and then she's got one gor sale with the rest of the sizes. It's an all-year around sweater :)

I still love springtime in hollis. The lattice pattern is simple but addictive. I did one in worsted weight cottonease with long sleeves and it worked well for spring-summer-fall. I have done them in cestari fine, malabrigo worsted plied and single ply, gaia, woolease it is a great fall-winter-early spring sweater, short sleeves over a ls top or long sleeves and hood and extra buttons as a jacket. Have also used the yoke/top bodice part of the pattern to make a cropped sweater with cap sleeves to go over a dress. :)

Am doing a striped little coffee bean (free) right now in blue and green cottonease for my boy but i hope to do one in yellow and white stripes with little flower buttons, maybe embellish with simple embroidered flowers and leaves or a small solid white sleeve pocket with embroidered daisies. It is a simple fast knit, too.

love is always the appropriate reaction.

And thanks to both of you guys for the recs.  I totally forgot about STIH, I remember seeing a lot of those around Rav and really liked the pattern.  I'll have to go check out the rest.
