All F&C was the absolute first detergent I ever tried on diapers. DS instantly broke out in a rash, but knowing it could have easily been my lack of routine experience I'm trying it again for YDD. I have been using Ruby Moon, but ran out. I used my homemade detergent and after two loads the diapers smell awful and she's getting rashy. It's so stinkin' hot I have no motivation to make a full trip to town so I just ran to the Dollar General in the itty bitty town 10 minutes away and it was the best looking option since I am so out of the diaper loop on here. Ugh... I hate wash routine issues. It has been my #1 CDing nemesis!

I just went back to All F&C last week. I ran out of my country save and forgot to order more. I thought it made my kids break out way back when, but it could have been my lack of experience, too. Anyway, it has been working great with no rash issues. I just do my usual rinse, hot wash cycle with the All and an extra rinse. Good luck, Renee!

Hope it works okay for you. i used it for quite awhile but didn't work well enough when DS got to the toddler poop stage & I think it was build up but I'd think it would work fine enough for a short time.

I've used All F&C for over a year now with no problems. After I wash them I do a "quick wash" cycle to get two extra rinses.

Renee, I'm convinced it's all about the individual kid. DD1 and 2 could only use All F&C...Tide was awful and broke them both out in a rash. DD3 is exactly the opposite. I couldn't figure out what I was doing wrong until I switched detergents from All to Tide (I use Tide for our regular laundry...I tried it out of desperation). Yeah, hoping it works great for your LO!!

So far so good. She's only on her 3rd diaper from that load and the other two she pooped in so it's hard to tell how the smell factor is going, but no rash yet! I finally washed yesterday but didn't get them done until right before bed. I didn't want to use a "tester" on her overnight so I went wiht the last load even though they reek by morning and she was getting the sunburn type redness - the possibility for it to be far worse scared me. No redness so far (she's napping now so should be a good test) and the pimply rash seems to be fading already! I've had detergents work once or twice in the past before having build up issues so I'm not holding my breath, but at least the first cycle was a success! |
