What would your stash look like if you could start all over from scratch?

Mine would look something like this:
36 osocozy flats
the 10 or 15 pack of bamboo velour inserts from alvababy
some snappi brand fasteners
3 homemade merino wool nightgowns
3 newborn bumby silky wool soakers OR size 1 sbish underwoolies OR similar
3 M bumby silky wool soakers (with 1" longer rise) OR size 2 sbish underwoolies OR similar
3 M bumby silky wool longies (with 1" longer rise but 1" shorter inseam) OR M sbish longies OR similar
Proud breastfeeding, cloth-diapering, co-sleeping, baby-wearing, stay-at-home mommy to my preschooler and baby. And I'm an Army wife. I love my husband!to,488px);}

I would have to say, if I was starting with a newbie, 3 dozen prefolds in every size to grow with the babe, and a dozen PUL covers (or maybe a dozen Capris each size 1 AND 2)

If I could do it all again I would go with pfs in each size and pul covers in all sizes with 2 dozen flats for back up and other uses.  I would also have 12 BG pockets or similar but stuff only w/ pfs.  This is basically what I've got my working stash down to at this point.

Newborns: Workhorses, prefolds, and Thirsties (sized)
Infant: Prefolds, Flats, and Thirsties
Toddler: Flats and Flips

Thirsties for the younger stages because they hold in EBF so well, and velcro makes for quick changes when you're doing so many.

Flips with snaps for older babies so they can't undo them and because I hate how Thirsties velcro wears out when they wear the covers for longer in the bigger sizes. The Flips are so trim and great for padfolded flats which wash easily with stinky toddler pee and poo. Dead

I use sposies at night because of our well water but if we had good water I'd use 2 flats with a MEAF or a Workhorse with a pad-folded flat under a MEAF.

Hmmm maybe something like this

NB: 1 dozen coloured sandies and homemade wool covers, longies/shorties, 1 dozen pf and 3 or 4 PUL covers
After:  Pfs, flats and small coloured sandies and MEOS, homemade wool and a mix of Capris and Flips

Sandies are so much easier to get in Canada, so I've gotten used to thier bulkiness.  If I were doing it again, I could likely convince myself to pay the shipping for a few sizes of workhorses.  I love sewing wool covers, longies and shorties, depending on the season.  I need PUL for out and about and daycare.  I hope the Capri holds up the way I expect it too, and the fit of the flip is perfect for us.

I'm happy with my stash of prefolds, workhorses, and flats. If I could do it over I would add some orange edges for the newborn stage. We started with yellows and DD was tiny so they were huge.

I would also add in some covers with aplix and some more wool :-)

If I started over from scratch, I would have sized pocket fitteds sewn from the new fishsticks pattern (I LOVE how Size Large fits on my son).  I would have all fleece covers (made by me).  My inserts would be all prefolds or hemp prefolds with Thirsties Fab Doublers.

Then I would still have my "daddy/babysitter stash" of breathable Preston's Pants (8).

Happy fleece :-)

I love my stash. The only thing is I own one Velcro cover and on my second child the Velcro is worn out. I also found that whenever my boys have worn it, they take it off. So I would never go with Velcro again.
So I have done well, I love variety. I would even like more variety if I wasn't so "thrifty"
If I had the money, I would try every type of cute and popular item ;)

I love variety too and wouldn't change much.  (Of course, I made a few "mistakes" along the way.  Like WHs - they were a mistake for us.  But hindsight is 20/20, you'know?)

I guess one change might be to have only one or at most two kinds of each system.  So just one kind of pocket/AIO (probably Simplex OS) and one kind of fitted (probably MEOS or Sandy's).  But this would be for daddy, not me.
