What kind of diapers will you be using? I suppose it depends on that.

I personally love GMD Workhorse/Cloth-eez doublers. I also really love GMD's sherpa doublers. They are so trim but the cotton sherpa is very absorbant.

I've been a fan of hemp doublers at night for a while now. But, you shouldn't need to go there until your baby sleeps longer stretches at night.

I agree with Clare, it depends on what kind of diapers you are using. I never found the need for any kind of doublers for our kiddos until 4 months or so as we were changing diapers so often, a doubler just wasn't necessary :)

Preamie prefolds make great cheap doublers. I've also used cloth wipes as doublers for newbies. When they get bigger I like hemp.

I use diapers a lot and have since I started cloth diapering DS at 5 months. I like bamboo or hemp personally. I have cotton as well. Preemie prefolds work good too.

Honestly wash cloths make great newborn doublers. Small enough to fit in itty bitty diapers but add a little something extra if you need it.

With DD2 we used cloth wipes as doublers under GMD orange edge PF.  I also recently bought some cheap Gerber flats.  I have been using them as doublers for DD2 under flats.  They are really thin and I'm going to try them as doublers under PF and flats when DD3 arrives but I'm not sure yet if they will be too bulky.  If they are I'll use wipes again.

Good idea Mama!  We never used doublers until 5-6 months or so as I thought they were too big but this would have been a good idea Smile
