The lifelong cloth diapering question. . . .
Which do you prefer (for the most part), snap or aplix diapers?

For the most part, I like snapping diapers and aplix covers. I like side snap covers more than front snap. But, if I am letting DS go in just a diaper with no shorts, I like to put him in a snapping cover so the aplix doesn't catch and pull on things. There is no simple answer here

Pretty much what Clare said. In general, snaps for diapers and Aplix for covers. But, side Aplix is just lame, so it's snaps there.

Preferring snaps mainly because of the way DD tears open the aplix these days. I think the aplix is friendlier for Daddy/Grandma/Grampy, but I prefer snaps for most items. Those Wee Hugger mittens are awfully cute, though. I also prefer snapping fitteds to closureless. I haven't touched a Snappi for months now.

Always Aplix here. I keep trying snaps every 6 months or so, and keep hating doing them up.

I prefer snaps, I haven't used applix since she was a newborn, but snaps always seemed more secure.

I have a mixture but I like my snaps better. Aplix is too scratchy and gets bunchy in the laundry (cause I always forget to do the laundry tabs). But when there is a great sale, I buy Aplix stuff still.

I prefer snaps just because much Los were so chubby that with any Aplix there was always the chance of it scratching their bellies or legs. But I like to have some Aplix for daddy/nana/sitters.

I only have 8 diapers that are aplix right now (rest are all snaps) but I am thinking of going down to 4 aplix (for gma and gpa, daddy. etc) and replacing the other 4 with more snaps - is that too little of an amount? Wonder if I should keep the 8 aplix?

Snaps as they seem to hold up better, don't rub bellies and don't attack anything in the wash bu I do like the fit of Velcro better but not enough to have too many

Mostly aplix (pockets & covers--it doesn't include snapping fitteds), but I have enough snaps to secure dipes on a nudist toddler

I do prefer the Velcro Capri over snaps and if Bumgenius had heavier duty Velcro that would hold up over time I may like that better

I prefer snaps for fitted diapers. For pockets/AI1's snaps For covers I like applix only because I can get a better fot but I don't like the scratchyness of it and how it gets yucky after a while.

I agree also. I only use snaps. I prefer diapers with two rows of snaps, because I always get a better fit. However, I do plan on buying a few aplix diapers for grandparents to use.

Aplix seems way more convenient (I only have it on covers), especially during the night, but velcro is definitely noisier and tends to make my LO startle. So I vote snaps.

I love the snaps! I have two covers with velcro in my stash and I never use them because they catch on everything and scratch.
