How much bleach should I use in my FLer for diapers?  Currently I am using 2 tsp but is that enough to kill the germs and such?

Good question.. I always wonder about how much it takes to actually "work" too.  I use an unmeasured splash in my TLer, which doesn't really seem like much but I'm afraid to use more

I used 1-2 Tbsp when I had my FLer, I always filled the washer first before adding diapers or bleach, then either put the bleach in after the washer was done filling and then add the diapers or I would put the bleach in a little bucket thing i had and fill that with water and add that to the washer. Some washers you cant add water to, but then just pour it carefully into the detergent dispenser, either straight bleach or mixed with water doesn't matter.
For my TLer that I have now I would add 1/4-1/2 c. of bleach, let it fill then add diapers once it was full (max water setting).

Either washer I would add detergent, bleach, let it fill up and then add diapers :)

Morgan, how do you let your FL fill and then add diapers?  Mine has a door lock once the water goes in.

I use about 2 TBSP or as much as 1/4cup with a lot of diapers.  I dilute it in an old milk pitcher, pause the machine and pour it in the soap dispenser after it fills.  I have about 3 feet of old garden hose that I put on my tap so I can run water directly into my machine.  I usually run that as I pour the diluted bleach in, so it is diluted even more.

My door locks too but I have been just pouring through the dispenser. So between 2 TBSP and 1/4 cup?

I wouldn't do more than 2 Tbsp in a FLer ;)

Well unless the diapers are like flats or pf's, you know-ones that can be bleached and you don't have to worry about them ;) Workhorses, to me, are in that category too ;P

So 2 TBSP will kill any bacteria or anything lurking in the diapers?  I just dont want to wreck diapers but 2 TBSP sounds good.

It will mostly be flats but of course I am not sure if the covers need to be bleached too LOL.  I actually contacted Clorox so will see if they get back to me...

Yeah for the covers I would definitely NOT use more than 2 Tbsp, I used to do that with my Thirsties bc they would hold stink and never had a problem and they would come out nice and fresh. For flats you could add more, basically anything that you don't have to worry about fading colors you can do that with, but diapers that have prints or colors I wouldn't go over 2 Tbsp :) Just my 2 cents ;)

Also-the tricky thing about FLers is that the water level is so much lower that the bleach is more concentrated which can do bad bad things to colors which we all know :/ So you just have to make sure its diluted enough. Now if you can add water to your FLer then you could up the bleach, I couldn't add a whole lot of extra water because it would lockdown if it got too full :/ But not all FLers are like that, my mom was able to add a gallon or two to hers.

Yes, we have mostly flats, pfs and ME products.  2 TBS is a good place to start, you could always add more later if you think you need it.

I do a rinse cycle with the bleach and diapers.  Then I toss all my covers in when I restart it for the  heavy hot wash with detergent.  There is still some residual bleach, but I haven't had any trouble with my covers.  Just enough to kill the stinkies, but not enough to ruin them, IMO.

I can add enough water to mine that the water covers most of the diapers.  Depends on the machine, I guess.

I do 2 TBSP too, although it's only been a few times.  That seemed to fix any stink/freshen them up.  I put it in the bleach dispenser on cold (first cycle).  I've heard some people say use cold & others say use hot.  I stick w/ cold.
