Since we're about done with dipes and DH doesn't want more kids i'm the current owner of a TON of prefolds and flats.  I know they're not worth much on FSOT so i'm trying to come up with ways to repurpose them.  So far i've figured out that premium and toddler prefolds make great cate crate liners for trips to the vet.  And i've heard flats make great dish towels.  And i thought i'd make mama cloth or washcloths with my stained bamboo prefolds.  But what else can i do with them?

I'd keep a moderate stack around as cleaning rags & all-purpose rags.  They are so absorbent, that when our roof was leaking I was using them all over the place and they were awesome.

I had thought about putting a PF under the water dish since the cats are always playing in it.  Good idea!

Sew and fold and make "sock" puppets with the kids. Or doll clothes/bedding. I know it's great if you can find your own uses, but you could donate them to miracle diapers or something similar. Or the pet worthy ones to maybe an animal shelter.

I lay one of my little ones between the tank and bowl on my toilet for the ones who tend to "over-spray", or just down right miss the bowl. Works great as they are so absorbent!

Great idea Tornado!  DS does still have aiming trouble once in a while.

my mom kept our old prefolds to use as cleaning rags - slowly using up a few at time - I think they lasted her 20+ years!  lol

Maybe you could see if there's anyone you could donate them to - post on craigslist or something for someone who really wants to cloth diaper, but doesn't have any money?

the Toddler PF that my DD will never need (DS was and still is a BIG boy, DD is a bird in comparison) are used to line our min-pin's crate because he still has 'accidents' over night (especially if the kiddos give him bread or treats after 8pm UGH). All the ratty prefolds are in the 'unpapertowel' bin for messy spills and cleaning.
