Guess what??? Abram slept from 6:30 pm until 5:15 this morning!!! I'm really hoping he does it again when I'm gone tonight...I'm so nervous that DH will not hear him and wake up.

Morning, Erin! Yay Abram!! I hope he does well for your DH and you have so so much fun tonight!
I was up with Shaun from 1130 p-2 a last night. He was screaming again, but was much easier to calm. He just wouldn't go back to sleep. |

Good morning, Melissa! Poor Shaun, I really hope the antibiotics do the trick soon. Earaches are so miserable...I still remember that from when I was a kid! It must be so gut-wrenching to watch your baby be in pain like that.

Good Morning!
Erin-so glad Abram slept well for you and hope you have a great time tonight!
Melissa-hope Shaun gets to feeling better soon so he can sleep all night. We went through a couple of rough weeks but it must have been nightmares for us as he was fine during the day.
We are staying home today all day I think. We need to head to Verizon for a new phone but even though mine is a pile I really hate to sign a contract w/those crooks and dont want to spend the money

Morning, Amber! GL with the new phone. It's amazing how much a cell phone plan costs. At least for me Verizon at least works everywhere! I hated paying for my Sprint service because it didn't even work in my house.

Morning! Erin, hope you have a great time. I bet DH will do fine.
Amber, I hear you about Verizon. I just got a phone this summer that I've decided I really hate, but I'm stuck w/ it for a while. I don't love the company either, but it's the only one that gets decent reception in my parents' town, and we're on the same plan. Hi Melissa, sorry to hear that Shaun is still having a tough time. I thought by now the antibiotics kicked in. I wonder if there's some congestion & pressure still that's making him uncomfortable. Poor baby .I'm hoping for a more mellow weekend. It would be a good time to clean out the garage, and start taking stock and tidying up for Thanksgiving, since we're hosting it. |

I am surprised that he's still having trouble too, Christine. I forgot to try Jess's Vick's behind the ear trick last night, but will definitely be trying it tonight.
I hope you get all your stuff done today Amber and Christine. I am not hosting Thanksgiving this year which is sort of nice, but we're going to DH's brother's lake house which is really small and has no TV for DH's football watching. I hope it isn't stressful, but probably it will be.

Hi Amber & Christine!
I'm just eating breakfast & then I need to go to the grocery store. I've got dipes in the drier already so they are all clean & RTG for DH. Of course, he will probably change DS 2x while I'm gone...once before bed & once in the morning so I'm not sure why I'm worrying about them!

Melissa I would have a tough time getting DH to go to Thanksgiving w/ no TV as he is so into his football.
Anyone know if I need to use bread flour to make homemade bread? I was planning on making sunnymoms recipe today but have no bread flour and only one bread pan

Amber, I can't believe DH agreed to go considering how much he likes football especially on Thanksgiving. It's his family so I wasn't pushing either way. I'd really almost rather host. Our oldest DD won't be with us on Thanksgiving this way.
I don't know anything about bread flour...sorry! I have some for some reason, but I never make bread. Hopefully someone else will know!
Off to do a little wii fit workout and then get on the treadmill. I'm still sore from the other day, but I have to do something today. Check in later! edited for spelling! Edited by Melissa_P - 07 Nov 2009 at 10:36am |

Good Morning ladies! I don't know what was wrong with DD yesterday, but she only took 3 15 minute naps and then fought going to bed! I had her down at 9, but she woke up at 9:30 and didn't go down for good until 10:30. Thankfully she slept through until 9:30 this morning. I'm hoping she naps better today. I need to go to Wal-mart today to get a few things for our Disney trip. We leave next Saturday and I don't want to be packing at the last minute. I'm wanting to buy a nursing cover, but have never used one. Does anyone have any suggestions for me? Tomorrow we have church and then will be hanging out at home. DH works on Sundays, so I usually spend the day with my parents, but they are taking my brother shopping for his birthday and Christmas. He can't go to Disney with us because he just started his job earlier in the year and has no vacation time, so he gets a shopping spree instead.
Erin, I'm glad Abram slept well last night and I hope he sleeps well again tonight! Have fun at the bachelorette party! Melissa, I'm sorry Shaun still isn't feeling well I thought he'd be feeling better, too. If he isn't feeling better by Monday, I'd probably take him back to the doctor. I had to do that a few times when Julian had an ear infection because he had built up a resistance to the antibiotic. He had lots of ear infections though.Amber, There is nothing like a relaxing day at home! I totally KWYM about the cell phone. I've had mine for 3 years now and will continue using it until it dies. We have Sprint and have reception issues quite often. We had considered switching to AT&T, but haven't yet. I have no idea on the bread. The only bread we eat comes from the store Sorry!Christine, I hope you get lots done today! I need to finish tidying up my house today, too. I started yesterday, but am not quite done. How many people are you having over for Thanksgiving? Edited by samie - 07 Nov 2009 at 10:59am |

Well I heard back from sunnymom and she said all purpose flour will work. We need to run to my moms and get a loaf pan or two though as I can only find one.
Samie-that sounds like a ton of fun going to Disney. Is it a long trip for you?

Amber, We are super excited about it! I haven't been in 15 years and DH and the kids have never been. We are leaving next Saturday morning and will get back Thursday night. It is the longest trip we have been on with both kids, so I'm hoping the baby sleeps well away from home.

Morning mamas! Hope all is well! I wanted to check in-Eli has a pretty bad ear infection, so I was able to get his amox. last night and start him on it. His fever was 102.7 last night, so I called the ER, since it wasn't going down with the ibuprofen, she told me that I could do two doses of ibuprofen when it's 102.5 or higher, so I did that and it started coming back down. He slept okay, but I heard him several times, just stirring around. He's finally down for a nap so I thought I would swing by and catch up-I feel like I am missing out!! LOL:)

Erin-good to hear Abram slept well for you. Have fun at the party tonight.
Melissa-sorry that Shawn is still having trouble. Hope it gets better soon.
Amber-i refuse to pay all those ridiculous fees the cell companies charge, so i have a Trac-Phone. It works anyplace that actually has service around here (there are 2 towns that are dead spots), and i only pay for what i use.
Samantha-sorry your DH can't go on vacation with you. My DH started his job in March and he had a 90 probation without vacation too. He's got vacation time now but it's being used on Deer Season instead of a family vacation. I've already told him we'll be taking a vacation next year with or without him.
Nothing spectacular planned here. I gave DS a hair cut this morning. Later i'm taking the kids shoe shopping and grabbing a few things at the store. And i need to order a ton of clothes for DD. She's outgrown everything in the past week and a half! So i have to get all new uniforms for her in a big hurry. If i order them this weekend she'll have them by the end of the week.
Well it's time to start my hot wash for dipes. I'll be back later. Enjoy the day mamas.

Erin-have fun tonight and be safe! My brother's fiance's bachelorette party is tonight, too! They rented a party bus and it will pick them up and take them around to all the hot spots in Des Moines, there's also a security guy that goes along with them, which I thought was awesome!! Anyway, have a great time!! And how cool that Abram slept like he did last night!!! That's great!
Melissa-sorry to hear Shaun is still in so much pain:( Poor guy! Earaches stink!! I hope he gets better really soon!!
Amber-you go girl with the breadmaking! I LOVE homemade bread, this is why I don't ever make it!! I would eat the whole thing while it was warm with butter slathered on it-LOL:)
Samantha-that's so great that you are all going to Disney! Have fun!!! Sounds like maybe Ruby is changing her naptime needs. It always seems like they do that just when you think they are in a good routine:) At least she's sleeping well at night for you:)
Well, I am off to make lunch for Amelia. DH is trying to get the beans finished today, don't think they will be able to start on the corn, but his goal is to at least get the beans done today. And to add to the chaos, he is giving the sermon in church tomorrow and needs to finish working that up. So...yeah, not much of a weekend for DH:(
((sigh)) Tis the season!!

![]() Jess, It is actually my brother that can't go with us. DH is going to help out with the baby. He gets motion sickness very easily and therefore won't be able to ride much. He really just wants to see everything though. Have fun shopping for DD! I had to do that for DS this fall. None of his jeans from last year fit! |

GL with the nap Samantha! Shaun's up after about 45 minutes so I don't know what my day is going to look like now. We have to go to church tonight at 5:30 pm. If he doesn't nap, I might as well stay home...
Morgan-Sorry about Eli's ear infection! That's awful!! Poor little guy! Hope he's feeling better today. Shaun seems to feel ok during the day, we're just having issues at night. Hi Jess! Don't you love a growth spurt!! Izzy did the same thing to me. Outgrew 2 pairs of uniform pants before she was even able to wear them. Luckily my friend let the hems out for me.
Off to try to get something done...DH is being a drill sargent today. I need it, but it's annoying at the same time!

I wish i could let the hems out, but they've gotten so tight they are affecting her breathing when sitting-but they were fine last week! Her sneakers are hurting her feet but didn't last week. Her skirts are too short, but again they weren't last week. Gotta love it. I knew something was coming because she's been complaining of her legs and feet hurting alot lately, and she does that before a growth spurt. She grew at the same time last year too, but then she won't grow again till next fall at least.

I have a bottom-of-the-line LG. I had an LG in the past and loved it. I also liked my Motorola Krazr, but decided to replace it because the battery was discharging too fast. Should have just replaced the Krazr battery again. The LG has a lousy speaker, and none of the easy button features I was used to. It's a PITB just to get it from ring to vibrate, among other things. And if you close it while on speaker, it hangs up. Honestly, I didn't realize that getting the "free" phone was going to mean giving up on stuff that I thought was basic. |

Mine too !Sorry to hear about Eli. Glad the fever when down after the second dose of ibuprofin. Jess, I have just started experiencing growth spurts, since the DSs were growing pretty steady as toddlers. Major bummer about the uniforms though. I know that stuff isn't cheap. We're doing probably 6 adults and 5 kids for Thanksgiving, so no big deal. It's the only holiday I've made my own, since SIL and MIL usually host stuff. I just didn't like the way they were planning ham (and no turkey) for our first TG after we moved here and decided to take matters into my own hands. I let DH do MIL's stuffing, since they all like it, and he's in charge of the turkey, but I do everything else: pies included! I love being steeped in Mexican traditions down here, but I just have to have a traditional New England-style TG. |

Good afternoon everyone! We made it through Wal-mart. I think I got everything we need for the trip. I even found a cheap nursing cover, but I doubt DD will like it. We'll see. DH decided to clean out his closet today. PITA, I tell you. We are both pack rats and refuse to get rid of anything, so we are quickly running out of storage space. He is done now, so I need to get busy with my chores. Ruby napped for 45 minutes before we went to Wal-mart and is napping again now, so I need to get some stuff done. This evening we are going over to my parents' house to finish our trip planning. They got the puppy's hair cut today, so I'm looking forward to seeing what she looks like now. Okay, I'm off. I need to fold laundry and fix the elastic in DS's old medium Fuzzi Bunz so we can take them with us on our trip. I'll BBL!
