These diapers are very absorbent after the inserts are washed a couple of times. I wish there was a newborn insert though! Having to fold the full-size insert is very bulky on my little guy.
The velcro is nice and soft but doesn't stay on the laundry tabs ever, so I end up with a big mess of diapers stuck to each other when they come out of the wash. The shells I hang-dry, but the inserts never dry in the house that way. I have to tumble-dry them for at least 100 minutes on high heat, using dryer balls. It's ridiculous how long it takes.
I find some of the elastics in the back are a little stretched out now, but they're still functioning just fine. I have to change the baby a lot though because I worry about the wetness against his skin for too long and it makes him fussy. Other brands seem to wick away moisture better, in my opinion. But no blowouts or leaks since washing a couple times.

I love these diapers they were my first experience with cloth. First of all so cute also they are so easy to use. I love all the additions they have come up with. The bio soakers are great especially for travel or days that I have alot of errands to run. Then the snaps are great and I love that they offer snap conversion because I have no idea how to sew. They are so easy last great had a few issues with elastic on two diapers but they sent me new ones immediately with no cost to me. Amazing diaper overall and so affordable compared to other systems also great overnight absorbancy even for toddlers.

This is our first attempt at cloth diapers. We love our GroBaby diapers! They are so easy to use. My husband even likes them. Just snap in a fresh soaker and away we go. We also purchased the biodegradable liners and they are awesome! We purchases both snaps and the velcro. I find the velcro are easier to find the right fir, but the snaps are also good.
We have been so impressed. We have not had a single leak with these even over night. In disposables we often have blow outs, with these we haven't had any.
Love these. They are so cute and easy to use!

This is such a great diaper system! I bought these for my 2 year old and was so excited to have found something that would last him through the rest of his diaper days. I loved that you could reuse the shells...and the fact that the soakers were organic cotton was fabulous! These soakers are SO absorbent! No leaks or any problems to speak of as far as their performance...awesome dipes! My only issue for my son was that he is already 30lbs and has thunder thighs, so the shells were too tight on his legs...luckily we were able to resell them to get something bigger for my guy! I would very highly recommend these to anyone looking to use cloth...they are easy to use and perform like a champ!!!

I have a love/hate relationship with these diapers. It took well over 10 washes for them to become absorbent enough to wear for more than an hour at a time. They are decent for daytime use now - but my son can't wear them at night (even with a booster) without leaking after a few hours. I think this has to do with the fact that the cotton soaker bunches up once the baby pees.
Pros:
-Snap in soaker is easy to use.
-Easier to pack diaper bag than other cloth diapers.
- I love the fact that we can re-use the shell a few times.
- Cute prints and colors
- Great customer service
- While my son has had pee leaks in these diapers, we have never had a poop blowout.
Cons:
-Leaks occasionally even if I change every 2 hrs
-Soaker pads take a really, really long time to dry
-Not a good nighttime diaper if your baby sleeps through the night

I believe I will like, maybe even love, this diaper when my baby is older. Here are the pros and cons that I am experiencing.
Pros: Softest diaper shell/cover I have come across. This is one lush diaper. Velvety soft, *really* strong velcro stuff (will be great for mobile baby.) dries fast, great colors. Versatile with other inserts and diaper types like contours.
Cons: Very bulky for small babies. Fitting a little better as baby gets heavier. Not a good fit for small weight newborns. Mesh is kind of a pain if it gets soiled. Snap-in insert and shell together are very very bulky. Trimmest fit with contours. Pricey.

I had heard from a friend of mine that cloth diapers were a better way to go because you saved money and it helped improve the environment. So we looked through all the different kinds and decided to go with Grobaby because they seemed the least confusing for first timers. The diapers are fantastic, it takes 1 minute or less to snap out the dirty insert and snap in a clean one not to mention they clean really well. My child however is a heavy wetter and even with a booster on top of the insert I have to change him every 2.5 - 3hrs which is extremely inconvenient if we're out for long periods of time or overnight. The other problem I have is how bulky cloth diapers seem to be, my child is at the stage where he's starting to try to roll over and every time he gets up on his side he gets stopped by the bulk of the diaper on his bum. It's very frustrating for both of us and I'm not sure how to fix this. I love my grobaby diapers but if this continues to be a problem for him we're going to have to switch back to disposables. :(

I REALLY wanted to like this diaper, but unfortunately it fell short of my expectations. The diaper is definitely on the small side for a one-size diaper...smaller than the bumGenius one-size diaper. The inserts do not open up much, so they are basically a solid block of cotton. This resulted in them not washing up very well and taking longer to dry than anything else in my stash, including DSQ prefolds and bumGenius organic all-in-ones. I also had odor issues with the inserts, probably because they don't open up for washing. The tabs curled into odd shapes after just a few washes (washed according to directions) and scratched my baby's tummy. :( I also did not care for the mesh fabric on the interior of the diaper. Everyone has their own experiences and opinions, but unfortunately this diaper was not all that we'd hoped it would be.

I have been using Gro Baby diapers for about 3 or 4 months. When researching which diaper to use, Gro Baby seemed like the best option for us. It is the ONLY diaper we have tried, and it will be the ONLY diaper that we will use. The fit is great on my 8 month old son. His clothing fits well over the diaper. The reason we switched to cloth is b/c he was having frequent blow-outs. We haven't had a single one since switching. The diapers are very user friendly...just as easy as disposables. The colors/prints are perfect! Also, The Natural Baby Company has the BEST customer service. I can't stop telling others how much I love GRO BABY!

I am now CDing my third child and have tried A LOT of diapers over the past few years. My youngest daughter is 3.5 weeks old and as soon as her cord stump fell off, she started soaking through ALL of her nb diapers, so I started looking for other options. I stumbled upon GroBaby hoping to find a one-size that she could wear now (at about 9 lbs) and throughout her diapering ""career.""
As soon as I got the inserts properly prepped, I fell in total love! I bought 2 of the ""try it"" packages and just ordered another last night. As soon as I sell off my newborn stash, we'll convert the whole stash over to grobaby. I'm amazed how well they fit a newbie (yet I can still get them on my 33 pound 2.5 year old too!) They are super absorbent and the system is so easy to use. The aplix is so different from other diapers and I really like it. I ordered a vanilla snap in my latest order...I'm sure I'll love it too!
Thank you GroBaby! YOU have made CDing super easy and convenient!

I bought both this and gDiapers, I love both of them for different reasons.
Gro Baby has become my nighttime diaper, she stays in it for sometimes 4+ with not one leak!
The only reason I don't use it during the day is because it is a bit bulky on my 9lb LO at the moment and I live in a HOT climate so I try to dress her as lightly as possible!
I love the convenience of just snapping in the soaker, changes are super easy and this diaper is just SO cute!
I can't wait til just gets bigger and I can use them all throughout the day.
Oh I should also make mention of the new bio-degradable soakers they are AMAZING! I absolutely love them! Great absorbency super easy to use.
If there was an complaint it would be the adhesive is so super sticky it leaves a residue on the snap, and this can hardly be considered a complaint seeing that it's better too sticky than no stick at all!

I love these diapers!
Price: I wrote that I paid $15.75 per diaper because if you buy the trial package at $63, it gives you 4 diaper changes, and that's the price per change. It can be even cheaper if you buy a more economical package or if your baby can use more soakers per shell.
Fit: Trim trim! I was getting red marks AT FIRST on my girls' back where the elastic was, but I think it was just detergent build up because we've switched to a clean rinsing detergent and they have no marks. This is the most comfortable diaper I own for the girls. I was worried about the fit not working as my girls got bigger because they were snapped out on the largest setting very early, but this is a low rise, trim fitting diaper, so give it a chance.
Leaks: None! Have only had leaks if the soaker pad was completely saturated. I've never had another diaper/cover work as well as these diapers! Most diapers usually leak even before the fabric of the diaper itself is saturated. Not so with Gro Baby! Like any cloth diaper, if you don't do a diaper check every hour or so, and get busy and forget to change baby's diaper, it will leak. The shell does it's job containing leaks, and adding one or two boosters for at night is sufficient for us. I've never had a poop leak, which is the most important containment in my opinion!!
Laundry: Because the soakers are so trim, I love how my diaper load is smaller, allowing me to go a day longer on my laundry. This saves me time on laundry, and they get CLEANER because there is less in the load! I got this tip on Gro Baby's facebook from another customer about the laundry tabs: if you attach them using the opposite laundry tab, which will sort of twist the diaper into itself, the tabs stay better. This has worked much better for us!
I plan on switching my entire stash over to Gro Baby because the trim fit is excellent, and the ability to save time on the laundry because of how trim the soaker is will be

I love my Grobaby diapers. It is all I have in my stash and it works wonderfully. My daughter is now 14 months and I have been using them for 5 months without any problems. They are super absorbant, can easily go 3 hours without a leak, are easy to use and I have had no blowout trouble either. Even my husband who was cloth diaper shy and our daycare agreed to use them when they saw how simple and user friendly they are.
Even more than the diaper itself I love the Natural Baby company. They are so good to their users and have so many giveaways. The very first grobaby I tried I got for free by posting them on my babysite. Since that time I have gotten free laundry detergent and an entire box of free biosoakers with a free shell. On top of those giveaways that everyone gets they also have contests all of them time for free sets. So that helped bring down my price.
The only downside is it can be really hard to find sales on them. I did manage to find one for the main part of my stash but it was a very limited time thing. Normal price is 24.95 which seems high but you don't have to buy any other parts, and the reusability is so high that my stash is smaller with these so the cost came out lower in my book,=.
Big grobaby fan here!

I got two Experience GroBaby, and Two extra soakers, and I have realized that not only are they awesome for the babysitter, but they are a FANTASTIC for the diaper bag because I'm not having to stuff all these diapers into a bag, just an extra shell and extra liners! AND these are SO trim under clothes, and they dry so quickly, I LOVE these diapers....

I have just recently tried the new Gro Baby Biosoakers. This is a great product. They are extremely absorbant and your baby does not feel any wetness against their skin. They are easy to use, just peel and stick. I love that there are different ways to dispose of them, all being environmentally friendly (compost, flush, or biodegrade). These are great for times when you dont want to use cloth but you dont want to use disposible diapers. They are perfect for daycare, babysitters, dads, grandparents as well. I would highly recommend anyone that uses the Gro Baby A12 system to try these out.

Love, love, love this diaper. So trim. Great for the diaper bag. Very absorbant.
I got the vanilla snap version because I hate velcro & the snaps work great.
I tried it on my friend's 2 year old who is about 30 pounds and it fit quite well.
I would just say it is not a night time diaper. But, my little guy is a very heavy wetter.

I love these diapers. We use the vanilla snaps. They work great for my 16 month old daughter. We have only been using them 2 months but so far I am very happy. They fit great, never had a leak, and wash up well. I love that I can hand wash the covers and then just hang them to dry. I have also been hanging my inserts out to dry too which makes them so white and clean.
I used bumgenius for awhile and my daughter had an allergic reaction to the shell material. I was so happy to discover GroBaby and learn that their all organic diapers use a different material than most cloth diapers (TPU instead of PUL). That made all of the difference for my daughter.
The diapers may seem a bit pricey but with the way the systems works it all evens out. Regardless, they are worth every penny.
Oh, and their customer service is so good. I am still new to cloth diapering and they answer all of my questions and are so friendly.

My husband and I LOVE these. Our daughter just turned 4 months old (I bought them before she was born) and out of all the dipes we tried, these are our favorites. After her cord came off these were the only ones that fit her well, the others were too loose and they absorb wonderfully. They are essentially the same thing as a fitted and cover but much cheaper in the long run since the inserts are all the same size and the shells are one size. They aren't super bulky either!! Love love love them and have recommended them MANY times to friends.

Grobaby is an excellent dipe. My LO has ""thunder thighs"" and these are a great fit. Very trim under her clothing so she doesn't have a bubble butt. They don't leave marks on her thigh like some other brands. The snaps on the the vanilla cover are very strong. I don't have any problems getting grandma or dad to use these. The soaker/booster are very absorbant. I have never had a leak. In fact this is the dipe we use on errands or long trips. The colors and the new prints that are available are adorable. I love this system and would def recommend to anyone in the market for a great versatile system.

I bought a couple of these for the diaper bag, and they're great. So compact (makes for smaller laundry loads, too!), very absorbent, trim, and organic to boot. We have one aplix and one snaps... I really like the aplix because it is so soft and fully adjustable. The snaps are a bit harder to get on, but I'm sure I'll appreciate it once baby is mobile. The elastic is very strong, perhaps too strong, since it does leave some red marks on baby's thighs, but it's ok for the most part. We use prefolds in the covers and it works perfectly. I like the cut of the cover - it doesn't extend too far down the thigh, so it doesn't stick out so much under clothes. The colors are fantastic, too!

I love everything about the Gro Baby system, from the trim design to the super absorbent soakers! The soft fabric at the waist is a huge improvement to the scratchy velcro other brands have. Love the colors & really looking forward to the prints! My 6 month old can pull the shells open, but keeping her in clothes halts that issue.

After almost a year of pocket diapers we've fallen in love with GroBaby diapers.
We love how cute and easy they are and we never get leaks, even at night. The soaker pads do take quite a few washes to be really absorbent though.
I think the velcro is much better than others we've tried. After 5 months of use ours look great. Although, I am very particular and follow the care instructions for my shells very carefully. I always wash warm and hang them to dry and never have a problem. We can't wait for the prints to come out so we can buy a few more. I'm hoping more stores in Europe start carrying these so I can order locally!

I love:
the absorbency. After a dozen washes, these became my most absorbent diaper, and with a doubler they work great for overnight.
the colors: especially the purple. It's unisex, it's really really cute, it matches a lot. The vanilla is nice, too.
the coordinating mini wet bags, which are a great price and work really well
the all-in-two diaper concept, where you can change the inserts without changing the diaper. I usually only get to use a shell twice, but that still keeps the price down and the diaper shelf less crowded.
I dislike:
The hook and loop closure. It's terrible. After a month of wear, it started to fail. My ten-month old can undo her diapers easily, just by crawling across the floor. The laundry tabs have never worked, so I get a diaper chain each time I wash them, and they are looking too worn already.
Though you can send the diapers in for a snap conversion, it is expensive, and you still can't buy the diapers with snaps in most of the colors.
I recommend these diapers, but only if you spend the extra two dollars for the snaps.

The Natural Baby Company now has Gro baby shells with snap closures instead of the hook and loop. The only problem is they are $3.50 each! They should be given out free to replace the ones with hook and loop. I bought the $375 package and I don't want to pay $42 just to exchange the one's I have. My Son has been taking off his diaper for months now and it's so frustrating to keep putting them back on because of the hook and loop. It maybe super sticky but my Son is strong enough to remove the fasteners. I really need the snap fasteners but can't afford it! I think it just terrible for us who want to exchange for a price.
I rated these a while back as a 5 star product. But now having had the product for 3 months, the system is rated differently now.
The shells I do have to rate them as 3 because two of the shells elastic bands have given out on me. One in the back and the other on his left leg. My son was in his jumperoo and all of a sudden he freaked out crying. I took him out of the jumpy and inspected him and noticed the elastic band gave out. My 3 month old loves being in his jumperoo and it bums me out that I can't use the gro baby diapers in the jumpy. Also, the tabs are easily removed by my Son. Good thing about the shells, they don't leak and fit well. I highly recommend to not put your baby in a jumpy that will put too much pressure on the elastic bands.
However, the insert and booster are just AMAZING! I rate these with 4 stars all the way. Just yesterday I had an insert last for seven hours and my son's bum was still dry! I even had to have my Husband touch the insert to see how dry it still was in the bum area. Only problem, they bunch up after so much use and leave sores on my Sons jewels.
3 stars for shells
4 stars for snap in soakers
5 stars for customer service

I just brought these diapers into my web store and I am so happy I did! They fit so trim on my toddler and the colours are adorable. I love the elasticized sides of the organic cotton soaker pads. The velcro closures are so unique and not scratchy like other brands - it washes up nicely and no need to pick lint out of the tabs.
Can't wait to see the new prints coming out in September!

So far I love the system! I am hoping they fit my toddler (13 months old now) until she's ready to potty train, which is my only concern. Other than that I have had great customer service from them (had some bad elastic) and they were very quick to fix it. They are great overnight which was a HUGE surprise to me. Usually cloth isn't an overnight option, but these diapers are fantastic with the soaker at night!
I do think it is wise to have enough diapers to last more than 2 days. For one less washing (with any product) will mean it lasts longer. I'm not sure if the 12 pack is for everyone, but 8-10 is a good number.
These also wash up very well. I have only had to sun a few inserts and even then they weren't that bad!

I love the GroBaby system! They fit so snug around my little one. They hold in messes better than any disposable I have ever tried. The system is also so easy and fast! This is the first time that I have tried cloth diapers, and I am sold. No need to look at any other brand of cloth diapers.

I love this diaper! It is very easy to use and I like that you can snap inserts in and out of it. I love that if there is only pee you don't have to wash the whole cover just snap in a new insert and away you go. The inserts are super absorbent and I have never had any problems with leakage. I really like the aplix on this diaper, it is unlike any other diaper that I have. It is super strong and does not fray like some others after frequent washings. It is a great system!

We really love this system and plan to get a few more for our stash. Love that you don't have to wash the entire diaper each time. The aplix is very different than anything else I've seen...really like it! It is true the inserts are great and very absorbent too, but do take a lot longer to dry. Would recommend these to others for sure!

My rule of thumb: cloth diapers should be cheaper than disposables, or easier to use, or both.
I can disposable-diaper my son for around $450/year, a far cry from the thousands of dollars most cloth diapering websites claim.
Everything previous reviewers have said is true. These diapers are very economical, the applix is unlike any other diaper (it is very soft and sticks like superglue), and the soakers are extremely absorbant and dense (my babes go 12+ hours without a leak). HOWEVER, the density of the soakers makes them hard to clean, even for cotton.
I think the manufacturer goes way overboard recommending the number of shells needed. I washed every other day and had 12 shells and 30 soakers for two children. This is PLENTY! A shell can be used 5-6 times if it's not saturated or soiled. The average use is three soakers per shell. If you have only one baby and want to use Gro Baby full-time, start with the ""Part-Time"" package from Soft Cloth Bunz (5 shells, 11 soakers) and a few extra soakers. If this isn't enough you can always add a ""Try-It"" package later (2 shells, 4 soakers).

This is the only diaper that we would replace our pocket diapers with. After several month of pocket ""problems"" and constand STRIPPING we thought we'd try a Grobaby and have now bought 5 more plus extra soaker pads. They are so simple and take up so little space, they are our favorite going out diaper.

I wanted to wait to leave a review for Grobaby until we had several months of use. We've now converted our entire stash to Grobaby and are really thrilled with them. They fit both of our babies really well, they wash up well (we wash our Shells on gentle and hang them to dry, the pads we wash on hot and they go in the dryer), and we've yet to have a leak in either our 4 month old and our 23 month old!
We're done with pockets and all the laundering trouble we had with them and are glad we made the switch! Great diaper!!

I love Gro Baby! I got a try it set from Heather at Banana Peels Diaper on a whim as I am a brand new cd'ing moma. These have been super! I got one snap, one aplix. They fit my 4 mo dd perfect on the infant setting and do a great job of holding the EBF poops. I will be getting some more of these! And I am very excited about the Bio inserts coming out! Super easy to use! Especially for a newbie!

This is the best quality, most convenient CD system I have used. I was a big pocket diaper fan, but after having my second child, was tired of stuffing 20 diapers a day! These Gro Baby diapers are made with the stickiest, softest tabs with woking laundry tabs, have a quick dry mesh liner that dries while the inserts are in the wash, and have a fuzzy fleece-like surface on the inside of the soaker to keep baby comfortable. The soakers do take a long time to dry, so I just put them in the dryer at night, run one cycle, and the residual heat lets them finish air-drying overnight. This system is actually cheaper than any othr syste, because really you only need about 8-12 soakers and just 3-4 shells per day.

I LOVE Gro Baby diapers! I love the concept of reusing the shell and just having to take out the insert. Save tons of money!! Plus I'm excited for their biodegradeable inserts because they will be great for travel. The cloth inserts do take FOREVER to dry but what would you expect from a product that soaks everything up so well. It's just a minor set back when your cleaning diapers, but i don't mind. The space I save not having to cart around 6 huge pockets is amazing! Plus my little one has the chubbiest legs and the fit is just divine on her! I would highly recommend trying them, they are worth the money!

I was new to cloth diapering when we bought the Gro Babies. Due to great advice from the vendor, I found them easy to learn.
They truly don't reach full absorbancy for 10 washes. My then 9 month old soaked through a disposable over night. After proper laundering, one soaker and one booster last all night.
They also fit him well, and he is a chunky boy! (24 lbs). The overall design is better than some other cloth diapers we considered. I like the fit of the hook and loop closure, and the way the aplix is so soft. It does catch on everything, though, if I forget to fold it down in the laundry. Also, my boy is now figuring out how to unhook them, but with training (and wearing pants) that is not a big issue. In addition, the colors are cute and gender neutral.
For laundering, they clean up well. I was them with my towels and little detergent (free and clear). I do one pre rinse for heavily soiled soakers. The shells dry in moments, and the soakers stay dry and white hanging in the sun.
I recommend GroBabies for anyone looking to go cloth, especially those new to the idea, as I was.

I like these diapers a lot. They're our favorite for long day trips out of the house because I can get about 5 dirty soaker pads in my wet bag versus just 2-3 BG's. It can be cumbersome to get the soiled pad snapped out and the new one snapped in, especially when you have a wiggly boy who might pee on you at any second! However that can be solved by alternating shells, which cuts down on the time it takes to get the new diaper on. We've never had anything close to a leak in the Gro Babys, and they're a nice trim fit. Nice product!

I really wanted to love this diaper. It is very absorbant, I never needed to add the booster - just used the soaker pads. I just had one shell and 3 soakers (and 3 boosters). My then 12mo old 25lbs chunky baby did fine in it during the day. He really sleeps on his side and this did not provide any side coverage and hence lead to leaks at night. (He's a heavy wetter and very few diapers with absorbancy only down the center have worked for us at night). The snap-in soaker part to this AI2 can be a little cumbersome and is not my choice for babysitters. I never tried it when my son was in the EBP stage, I don't know if it would have contained his poop completely on the soaker. My main complaint with this diaper is the hook & loop ('velcro'). After several months of use, it really stopped sticking at all and curled up. They now have a snap option that I would be interested to try.

My husband and I were just discussing this the other day and we couldn't disagree more with a few of the reviews below.
I completely agree with the retailers saying you need 12+ Shells for diapering full time. Just because a diaper is one size does not mean that it is going to be able to withstand 3-4 times the laundering and use. When we cloth diapered our first baby with prefolds and Bummis wraps I bought 6 wraps in EACH size (newborn-large), so 24 Wraps. There is no way I could have gotten away with just 5 or 6 wraps for the 30 months we cloth diapered her. NO WAY! I agree, you must have enough diapers so that they don't wear out. I mean cloth diapers are clothing...they aren't made of steal, and they will wear out.
With our third baby we went in to the Natural Baby Company's store and bought a Live package (12 shells, 24 pads) and we were even gifted a few more Shells at our shower and it is perfect. After almost 5 months I can honestly say there is no way we could have gotten by with just a few Shells...no way! We will probably add a few of the prints when they are stocked which will give us about 18 Shells and 30 pads, which I think will actually get us to potty training.
So as you can tell, we're pretty darn happy with our Gro Baby diapers. We have enough diapers, I wash every 3 days and hang my shells to dry. I was washing on hot until I noticed the care tag said to use warm...so we switched to warm washes. I've been recommending these to my friends at playgroup!
The only thing I haven't liked about my shells is they like to stick to everything, but i guess that is just velcro for you. Other than that, they've been super!

Gro Baby is our ""go to"" diaper now. After more than 4 months there isn't much we don't like about this system. It is so absorbent and washes up really well, I also love how small our loads of laundry are. We've now sold off all of our Bumgenius AIOs and are using only Gro Baby and are really so happy!
I did find it took AT LEAST ten washes to be fully absorbent, the soaker pads are so absorbent they take a bit longer to dry in the drier, and the shells are best when hung to dry. Other than that it is a simple, simple system!

I like them enough...they're super trim. Maybe even a little tight. They're super soft and super absorbent and trimmer than a tri-folded pre-fold. Great for someone new to cloth and a little hesitant to try it.
But for the price, I'm sticking with prefolds & covers. If you like the AI2 idea, just get some GMD organic prefolds (you won't need to fold them down) and wrap style covers. Tada! Same thing. Really. These would not really make a good daycare/ dad/ babysitter diaper anyways. because if you're not re-using the shell, what is the point? AND you have to snap the soaker out which is a bit of a pain. (Although this might be nice for a really active child.)
The cover is ""One-Size"" BUT there are so many different cover size options out there these days that it's not as great as it sounds. Plus - the mesh on the inside of the cover holds the pee smell and you have to actually rinse it out after each use as opposed to wiping it clean. (And it leaves a mesh imprint when they sit...)
My 19 lb, 9 month baby can actually wear it on all 3 snap settings because it is soooo stretchy (hence the fact that I actually believe that it would fit a toddler).
Should you try it?
YES: You're overwhelmed by the choices and new to cloth. This is a great choice.
NO: You are happy with your prefolds and covers. I find it to be pretty much the same thing, but I find prefolds to be easier (no snapping) and a lot cheaper.

I absolutely love these diapers! I had been been using BGs and HHs before I got these, but had still been having issues with night-time leaks. Once I switched to Gro Baby, all my leak problems stopped. I can even put my son (who still nurses throughout the night) in one without a booster and he never leaks! That's saying something for a 10-month old, 20-pound baby!
My only issue ever was that I had the elastic break on two of the shells. I contacted customer service at http://www.thenaturalbabyco.com/ and they got back to me IMMEDIATELY and replaced the diapers right away at no charge to me (and even included a free shipping bag to send the defective diapers back). Apparently there had been a bad batch of elastic on some of the diapers. But I don't even care since customer service was SO great.
I am now in the process of selling off all of my other diapers so that I can convert to using the Gro Baby diapering system exclusively!

I am new to cloth diapering. I have a 2 1/2yo and another on the way. I've started with some pocket diapers and the gro baby system. I really wanted to love this product but it's just okay for me. I love the colors of the shells and the ease of use aspect is great. I don't really find it to be a great one-size system so far though. I have a very petite 2 1/2 yr old and the rise of the shell barely fits so I have experienced a couple leaks since the shell is on the small side. My biggest problem though is the way the soaker pad bunches up while she is wearing it. I don't know if it's the fit of the shell or that she is very active but the pad bunches up so urine always gets on the shell. The other problem I have is when she has a BM since the pad is scrunched up the shell ALWAYS gets soiled from it so the amount of uses of the shell is diminished. I also find it's a pain to spray off the poo because it gets wedged up underneath the partially attached booster pad. As long as I just use this system for wet diapers during the day it works fairly well. I do find the pads to be very absorbent. I sometimes use the extra boosters as pocket stuffers and find they work well where you need a little extra. I'm hoping that this system will work better on the smaller baby due to a better fit. I really wanted to use this system more but not feeling the love so far.

I really thought the Gro Baby system was a great idea and wanted to try it out for my 12 month old son but it did not work well for us. The fit of this diaper is very small. My 23 pound son is tall and lean but this diaper left red marks around his thighs and waist even when adjusted as loose as possible. I can't see how this diaper would fit a larger baby. I will say that it didnt leak at all and is trimmer than a lot of other diapers but the shell got saturated every time by baby wet so I had to change shells with every diaper change. I will not put this diaper on my baby again only because it looks so uncomfortable and tight. I wish this diaper was made a little bigger, then it would be a very good system for us.

I was thinking about using cloth diapers and saw the reviews of Gro Baby diapers and decided to go ahead and try them. This system is so easy to use. I was concerned about using natural fibres and these are organic cotton and wonderfully soft. My 22 month old son constantly leaked out of disposable and we get no leaks with the Gro Baby, even if we forget to change him every 2 hours. He loves showing off his colourful diapers to his brother and sister, the colours of the shells are wonderfully vibrant. I am holding off adding to my stash until the new shells colours/patterns are released later this year. Thanks The Natural Diaper Co for a wonderful product.

We've only had these for about 2 months but so far we're really impressed. I'm finding I can go the whole day with 3 Shells and 7-8 Pads. The fit is trim and our 12 month old is able to wear them with the rise snapped down so I really think they may fit through potty learning.
Care is simple. I wash them with the rest of my diapers and hang dry the shells. The velcro is great, but very sticky. I can't wait until new colors come out, we'll definitely add a few more to our stash. A very cool diaper!

We use Gdiapers and I was looking for something to use at night and during naptime, when I read about GroBaby I thought they would be the perfect option. We LOVE our GroBaby system. It has held up very nicely to washing and fits my litle girl great. I love the colors and that you can have more diapers for less since you can reuse the outer cover. I can't wait for more colors so we can expand from one diaper. They are a bit more bulky then our gdiapers, but for around they house they are great. I love the soft fabric and the velcro.

I love these diapers!!!
I have had a different experience than the reviewer who said these would not work for bigger babies/toddlers. I have two girls in diapers: one is a large 2-month-old who just moved to the middle snap position; the other is an average-sized 2-year-old. The Gro Baby fits both girls perfectly. Compared to other cloth diapers I have used (Fuzzi Bunz, Swaddlebees, Haute Pockets), it is nice and trim on the toddler. On my older daughter, with one booster it is plenty absorbent for a nap or for overnight. Putting in two boosters for nighttime doesn't add too much bulk, which is great. I don't find it too bulky on the infant, either, although I have found it helpful to go up a size in her onesies and other clothes that snap at the crotch.
I have not had trouble with blowouts when the baby is in her Gro Baby, but the BMP does sometimes get on the shell. Not a big deal since as a mother of three I do laundry constantly anyway.
I am thrilled with this diapering system and have replaced my old diapers with new Gro Baby diapers. I love the current colors but am also excited for the vanilla to be available...and maybe even prints! I recommend these diapers to anyone who is considering cloth diapers or who already cloth diapers but wants to streamline their stash.

I love that the cotton and outer fabric are all the same quality - my stash just looks great! I have never been happier with performance either - no leaks and the snaps stay SNAPPED!!! I would recommend over any other cloth diaper out there....
Also, I just want to say how awesome The Natural Baby Company was when I called about a sizing question. Jennifer called me back within an hour and answered all of my questions. Totally great!

These just didn't work very well for my son. We didn't have blowouts, but his EBF poop got on the shell EVERY time, which meant that we found that we would have needed way more shells than their site estimates-- almost one shell per diaper change, which for us made this diaper one of the most expensive one size options. And since it really takes the inserts at least 24 hours to dry (we machine dry and then finish off on the line), we would have had to have more and still wash daily if this was our exclusive system. Our 4 month old is on the largest snap setting and comfortable, so it's really hard to see these lasting anywhere near potty training. Finally, customer service just wasn't that helpful when I asked them about these things, they kind of suggested that it was because my baby is ""different"" and good luck to me.
This may be a good system for petite babies, but if you have a big baby or a big eater, I would guess your experience will be more like mine.

I bought two of these thinking they'd be great for outings and we're now in the process of converting our entire diaper stash to Grobaby. Even my husband is loving them. Jennifer at The Natural Baby Company was so helpful and answered numerous emails from me.
Pros: Organic cotton, we love the hook and loop, the fit is trim and so far they seem very absorbent.
Cons: The only one I can think of is I wish they came in more colors.

I am new to cloth diapering, I started in March of this year. I tried BumGenius, Bumkins, Drybees, Thirsties, Fuzzibuns, TinyTushies, Babylands, Coolababys, prefolds, Bummis, and Grobaby's. I sold all of my other cloth dipaers once I found and used Grobaby. It is super trim and cute. NO leaks ever or blowouts. Super easy, and super soft. I only use Grobaby now.

There are so many things I love about this diaper. The first being the colors they come in, second, the soft aplix closure, and third the concept of snap in soakers and reusable covers.
I have had them since they launched so I have been using them a few months. They do hold a lot of pee, they worked well for us overnight with a booster with no leaks. I haven't had any leaks with them, even with EBF poop.
The downsides: long dry times for the soakers, they take a little longer to change than an AIO or pocket. You get used to it though.
I did a video review of them on my diaper blog as well if you care to see how they work.

Great concept! I love how you can reuse the cover and just snap in a new insert. We have had no running breastmilk poop get on the cover! Never had a leak.Love the way they fit my 11lb 11 week old! A little bulky under clothes, but overall great. I love the soft hook and loop, very unique.
Only negative is the long dry time for the inserts!

I would highly recommend this product for anyone new to cloth diapering. Highly absorbant, waterproof, economical. NO bloouts! I have to say that grobaby is my very favorite! It combines what I love about using kissaluvs and prefolds (reusing the covers) with the convenience of a bumgenius or fuzzibunz diaper. Its actually more convenient than bumgenius or fuzzibunz, as there is no stuffing involved! I would highly recommend this product for anyone new to cloth diapering. even though i think 24.95 is alot of money for a diaper, the reusable cover makes it worth it, as you dont have to wash them each time, and you can by more liners (2 for 16.00) that make is much more economical! Plus not washing the cover each time means that the covers will last alot longer, as opposed to bumgenius which needs to be washed every single time. I wish these were the only diapers that I bought! It would have saved me alot of money!

After I tried some kind of cloth diapers, I discoverd those gro baby diapers and that was exactly what I was looking for!
Easy to use, far less expensive than oter systems.
I love the fact that I can use 3 pads for 1 Shell (don't have to bring a huge bag with me all the time).
I also like the shell colors even if it's not as pretty as some others. And if I had one request, that would be to have the same pads but made with bamboo (which is so soft and absorbent).
Still I highly recommend this product!

I have just begun to use cloth diapers and Gro Baby is one of the brands I am trying out. So far, I really like it. I've also tried out a couple brands of pocket diapers and I like not having to stuff the pocket b/c the Gro Baby just snaps right in. I also like not having to wash the cover every time. The hook and loop closure make it so much easier to get a diaper on my squirmy 2.5 year old than snaps. It's the most like a disposable that I have used so far in terms of ease of use.

I purchased just one Grobaby diaper to try out on my 2 children. I liked it so much that I went back and got the package with 2 shells, the soakers, and the extra doublers. I am really like the Grobaby diapers, they are so soft on my baby's skin. Both of my boys have very sensitive skin and these do not break them out. The soakers are well made and I love them for overnight, even on my sidesleeper. No leaks so far! I also love how I can snap out the soaker and snap in a new one and be done with it. Both my 2yo and my 6 mo can wear the same diaper, all I need to bring with me is more soakers. Great product so far!!

I am new to the world of CDing, so everything seemed so foreign to me! So I ventured out to a local natural baby store, Nurtured Family and bought Fuzzi Bunz AIO one size to start. I did like them, and they hadn't turned me off from CDing, BUT I was looking for something ""more"" and a little more convienient and Husband friendly....SO, I went back to the store and the sales clerk pointed me in the Gro Baby direction!! Boy did she maked the right move! These diapers are EXACTLY what my husband told me CDing should be about, a removable liner and a shell. Needless to say he was super excited about them when I brought them home. The quality is wonderful, the organic cotton is a dream!! The mesh liner of the shell is breathable and the snaps are super strong. I also, like some, was hesitant about the Velro, however the Velcro on the Gro Baby is unlike any other...I love it! Im going to stick with the Velcro even when they come out with the Snap System for Gro. Oh and the fit is awesome! Fits my 3 1/2 month old beautifully and by the looks of things will continue to do so until potty training. Thanks for making such a ""user friendly"" product! We will be Gro Baby fans for life.

When I first came across Gro Baby online, I thought, ""what a crock--it's nothing more than a prefold in a cover with a jacked-up price."" Boy, was I wrong. I bought a great-priced used one I came across--and my diaper stash will never be the same. I LOVE this product.
About the prefold argument: the elastic and the fabric make the extra cost worth it. This cotton is DENSE and soaks up way more than a triple folded prefold. And the elastic and the anchor snaps make sure the pad stays flat in the cover and the poo stays in the pad.
A word to those with larger/older babies who are worried about the shorter rise: it's OK! My boy is over 30 lbs. (and not yet 18 mos.) and he can wear his shell on the medium and large settings comfortably. This thing stretches! Once I got sold on the concept, I was worried about the long-term usage for us, since he still has some growing to do before we potty train. But I'm confident enough in the fit to have just purchased more shells and soakers.
Try one, but beware--you'll want more!

They make up about 75% of my current stash. They fit well, and are easy to adjust for different babies. I have 6 shells and 10 soaker pads, with 4 more soaker pads on the way. However, they also work really well with a trifolded prefold just laid in the soaker. They're a bit tricky for a newborn at first since you have to sort of ""scrunch"" the soaker down into the diaper, but after putting the diaper on once or twice, it was not an issue. I will say that even with a breastfed baby that that contain poo really well on the soaker pads. I've only had poo on the shells 3 times, and those were with hugely explosive poos, but even then, they were still contained WITHIN the shell, and no blowouts. :) I only have 6 shells and I find that to be more than enough, and could even make my whole stash thee diapers using 6 shells. I think 12 shells like they suggest would be overkill. They are aplix, and some people don't like that. I love the aplix they use and don't have issues with ""diaper chains"" in the wash, but i know others have. they are coming out with a snap version in june, and will be coming out with more colors and prints in the late fall.
So some Pros: Fit most babies shapes really well. Shells are reusable until they are soiled so it reduces laundry, and eventually is more cost effective since you need more soakers, but less shells. It is a trim fitting diaper, and since it's an All in 2, makes a great diaper bag diaper since it can be dependable, and there's less bulk to carry. It's organic cotton, so natural fibers against baby's bottom.
Cons: They do leave red marks on baby's legs/back. They're not terrible though, no mre than a pair of socks would leave on baby but i know this bothers some people. They stain more easily than other fabrics, but I think that's just the nature of the beast. They are a bit pricey to invest in initially. The soaker pads kinda scrunch up a bit in the wash and take a bit more time to unscrunch and lay f

We mostly use prefolds so I was hesitant to try Gro Baby, but I love Dream-Eze products and Kim (from Natural Baby Company) pointed out that the shell works great as a cover for prefolds so I decided to give these a try. So far I love them. The shell is the best one-size cover I have seen and unsnapped it fits over a red-edged GMD wonderfully. I have also tried a trifolded infant prefold in it and that was a great fit as well. And when you need more absorbancy and convenience than you can get with a prefold the snap-in soaker turns it into a very trim AIO. I'm still testing them out, but I think these make a great addition to any stash even if you don't use the Gro Baby System exclusively. And did I mention that the colors are so vibrant and gorgeous? I love the mandarin.
So far for drawbacks, I want to mention that the soaker takes a very long time to dry so if you don't have a dryer (we don't) I don't think you could use this system exclusively. However, alternating prefolds with the provided soakers works well.

I really like these diapers. They fit both my new baby and my almost three year old very well, are very absorbent and contain leaks well. I prefer them to either prefolds and a cover or pocket dipes, and it is cost effective compared to pocket dipes if you get extra inserts. No odor problems since the soakers are all cotton. A very flexible system. My one complaint is that the laundry tabs on a couple of my ""shells"" just don't work at all. On another shell, they work perfectly. I'm not sure what the difference is. However, while the velcro might stick to the mesh lining of the shell itself, I haven't had it snag any other diapers in the wash.

I love my Gro Baby! I won it in a giveaway from Banana Peels Diapers, and I am so thankful I did. I will be replacing many bumGenius with these. They fit my son so well and are so trim under his clothes, it looks like he has a sposie on! Super Easy to use, easy to wash, and very soft hook and loop closure. I very much recommend this diaper to anyone. It does look a little small though, so I wonder how well it would fit a baby at the larger end of the spectrum, but for us is perfect now. Love it!

Holy Cow. I can’t say enough wonderful things! I had tried pretty much every single dipe out there for my heavy night wetter, but was at the point where he was back in 'sposies most of the time bc we had so many constant leaks. In his HHOS we had to change him every hour or two, or he'd soak through his clothes. That was with 2 microfiber inserts. Same with the FB's, Knickernappies, BG’s, etc. I'm not kidding when I say we tried pretty much everything.
First I fell in love with the quality & gorgeous, vivid colors. Pics do no justice! Especially the Kiwi and Blackberry.I had heard that this Velcro was different than what I had on my HH’s, and seeing it in person just blew me away. First I thought there was no way this V. could possibly work as well as the HH’s, it actually works BETTER. Little man could get his HH’s off easy The gro’s tabs lock on so tight, no matter how hard he tries, he can’t get them off!
We’ve only had one leak only because I hadn’t closed the tabs high enough on the panel and the elastic wasn’t as tight around his thighs as it should have been. While he’s been in these, he’s had a few major blowouts, and a horrible case of stomach flu. These babies held everything in through all of that and he’s gone 14 hours at night with no leaks!
I love them so much I’m selling off my old stash that we spent well over $600 on, because I refuse to use anything else.
I love how trim they are. In the HH’s and FB’s, none of little mans clothes fit him properly. We had to buy his pants too large so that they would fit over his huge CD booty. With the GB’s, he fits into clothes his size!
The shell is great, the soakers/boosters are soft, plush and super absorbent, the fit is great, the shells still look brand new after being washed a number of times. The soakers/boosters haven’t had any significant shrinking from being washed, which I was a little bit afraid of. Plus my wash loads have been cut by half!

We're switching our entire stash over to Grobaby. I love the fit, i love that it is organic and mostly i love how simple it is to use. Our daycare is even letting us use these while our daughter is there 3 mornings a week. We've only had them a month, but they look like new and compared to the two Bumgenius we've had for 3 months. I'm now on a mission to convert all of my friends, this is by far the easiest cloth diaper we've used.
