The ONLY thing I don't like about these diapers is the velcro (which they fixed with the new 4.0's) and the colors. I love the stay dry liner, it doesn't cause rashes. I love the inserts and fit, just an overall great diaper.

I have 6 kids and have used these exclusively on my youngests, now almost-3 year old twins. I could never recommend a diaper above bumGenius! The fit, the function, the durability have all exceeded my expectations. Highly, highly recommend! These diapers 'stopped' me from sewing my own - who needs to when there's finally an ideal diaper out there??

These are our overnight diapers and so far are the only ones that don't regularly leak (stuffed with both inserts & a hemp doubler). The aplix shows wear very quickly although still functions just fine. Love the suedecloth inner.

Pretty decent diaper except for the inevitable microfiber stink and the velcro tabs that die immediately. Also the stuffing is a real pain, but that's part of the whole pocket deal. They are amazing for overnight when paired with a doubler, hardly wick.

This is my favorite diaper! I have learned that every baby is different and every diaper works/fits differently for everyone. I've used Fuzzibunz, Smartipants, Rumparooz, and Flip. Besides the flip diapers these are the only ones that I've never had leak issues with (pee or poo). I think the Bumgenius diapers just have a really good fit. These are my night-time diapers also (with the newborn insert added for extra absorbency). The suede cloth lining really leaves my baby's skin dry. The fleece lining in my other diapers don't seem to have the same effect. The velcro tabs have only come undone once or twice in the laundry and are still holding up after 7 months. Overall I prefer snaps and I'm so excited to have my new 4.0's on the way. They are not as trim as my fuzzibunz or smartipants but not as bulky as my Rumparooz. If the diaper fits well and doesn’t leak…that’s my main concern. I use Rockin Green detergent and have never had a stink issue either. Overall, I would definitely recommend this diaper.

After reading all the positive reviews, I was convinced that BG was the right diaper for us. I have not been my happy with my initial purchase. The Velcro is horrible and has not held up. Every time I do laundry, it sticks to everything else except the laundry tabs. The Velcro comes undone frequently and my almost two year old tells me when it needs to be fixed. The polyester is starting to pill. The AIO are also not as absorbent as I need them to be. I have a heavy wetter and I find myself changing him every one to two hours. Save yourself the hassle and consider another brand. The quality just isn't there.

This review is for the bumgenius 3.0.
This diaper has quickly become my favorite.
Pros:
-the diaper is sized well, it fits my tiny newborn well, and I can see that it will fit him for a good long time.
-the diaper holds bfp and pee in well, I havn't had any leaks with this diaper.
-the diaper is cute, and comes in nice colors.
-the diaper is a reasonable price, when compared to other pocket diapers.
-the velcro makes for a good fit.
-the insert comes out in the wash, which makes cleaning easy, and the cover dries quickly, both in the air and in the dryer.
-I have never had a smell problem with this diaper/insert. (thanks to rock'n'green!)
-This diaper always fits, because of the convenient velcro closures. My son is frequently in between sizes in snap diapers.
REVISED
Cons:
-the diaper is bulky. (but still fits under my sons regular clothes). While this diaper was quite bulky on my newborn, it still kept everything in, and doesn't seem as bulky now that he is a bit bigger.
-the velcro is very rough, and I am worried it will ruin other, more expensive diapers in the wash. (this seems unfounded, I have been washing these with my other diapers for months now, and have had no problems!) The velcro is starting to curl up a bit. This isn't hard to fix, and I think the perfect velcro fit makes up for that. (my son is often in between sizes on snap diapers).
-the insert does not dry after two cycles in my dryer.
Overall I like this diaper. It is functional, and cute. I would recommend this diaper to anyone who plans on having more than one child, so long as they aren't afraid to change the velcro once in a while. (I believe the manufacturers provide this service, or can send a replacement kit).

I'd say 3 1/2 but rounded off to 4 for my rating. My ONLY issue with these diapers are the velcro. I think the new ones now have the snap option. I wish they had the snaps from the beginning. The velcro goes bad on it quickly. And babies like mine learn quickly to undo them. So, now that my son is almost 8 months old he's taking them off all the time (good thing we don't use disposables!). So, the 6 I have I can really no long use regularly.
Other than that they are great if used when a baby turns about 4 months old or older. Newborns do not fit well in these. They are too big and bulky at first.
I am the only person I know that has issues with pee leaking out of them if used at night. My son is a heavy wetter but I know other moms with heavy wetters and these diapers do the trick for them. My Fuzzibunz have the same issue. So I can only suppose my son is a SUPER DUPER Wetter. So, if you too have a super duper wetter you might want to try them for night time diapers just get one of these at first to sample. And get the new 4.0 with snap option.

Overall, I've been really happy with these diapers. Their ease of use helped win my husband over to cloth diapers. They clean up nicely and with the exception of the velcro look almost as good as when I bought them. The velcor is one of the things that keep me from giving it a 5. I did have half of my stash converted to snaps by a WAHM and those are great, but the remaining velcro ones look very worn and the velcro is losing its stick. Also, in terms of sizing, I'm not convinced they will last my daughter till 35lbs. She's 19 months now and 23lbs and it's getting a little tight. Other then that, a great diaper!

Pro:
Good fit
Wide pocket for double stuffing
Con:
Fair condition after nearly a year
These would be my favorite diapers if they had not begun to show wear at eight months of use. At this point velcro in half of my Bum Genius 3.0 stash was shot. The velcro in legs is also beginning to show wear. The condition issue caused much frustration since I had not been using the diapers for very long. I do like these diapers a lot for a good fit and they offer a generous pocket to double stuff. I often use this as a nighttime diaper. This is a good diaper and I wanted to love it since it was ""the"" diaper when I first started researching cloth diapers, but it comes second to others.

I'm not too impressed with this diaper. The velcro wears out quickly and it's too bulky between the legs even when my son was over the recommended weight. He had really skinny thighs so the diaper gapped at the legs quite a big allowing for leaks and blow-outs. I also don't like the fact that I can't just shake the liner out, I have to use my hand to unstuff it.

I have the same problem with all Bum Genius diapers, including the pockets and all-in-ones, and that is that I feel like they run small. My son has always been on the chubby side and initially there was just not enough space for his thighs and it would pinch the top of his leg by his hips. Now that he is thinning out at age 2 and nearing the 35 lb. limit, they are not long enough in the rise and we have the same problem. I really like the materials and the way the diaper is made, and they are very convenient -- just like a disposable. I just wish they had a little more give in the elastic and truly could fit a baby up to 35 lbs.

I love these diapers and have been using them since my daughter was born, and she is now 18 months old. At first my daughter's skin seemed to be getting irritated, but I changed detergents and that solved the problem. I use Arm & Hammer Essentials Perfume and Dye Free detergent, dry the inserts and covers in the dryer, and have never had a problem with smell or stink.
I have rarely experienced a leak in these diapers, they work a thousand times better than disposables in containing runny/explosive newborn poo.
The only complaint I have is that with a very wet diaper, the pee will seep out the TAG and get my daughter's clothes wet! I have friends who have had velcro problems, but I have never had a problem, mine are still going strong without fraying or frizzing. My only other concern is that my daughter is wearing 2-3T size clothes now, I don't know if these diapers will fit her until potty training! She's very tall, and about 30 pounds. I also can't use them overnight anymore, I haven't found an insert that can
handle that much wetness for that long without leaking. They are bulkier than disposable, but I don't mind. Some of my diapers have mild stains, but again I don't mind, they are diapers after all. I don't need them to stay pristinely white, as long as they are clean. Overall I love them! I
am interested to try the Flip system with my next child and see how they compare..

I liked these diapers the first couple months but after 2-3 months of use, the velcro curled and was crap. Basically the whole diaper including the elastic was crap. I took really good care of the diapers, only washing every 2-3 days and NEVER dried in teh dryer. I didnt know I could return these for a replacement so I sold all of them for really cheap and took a huge loss.

THESE DIAPERS ARE AWESOME!! I tried several types of cloth diapers and sold all of them for a complete stash of bumgenius 3.0s... i was having a lot of trouble with leaking with my twins but not with these... they wash beautifully and look so cute... the most negative people towards cloth diapers have awed at these and four of my friends are going to cloth diaper their children after seeing how easy this system is. I even use cloth if we go out (just put a liner in) and it's amazing. I am so happy to cloth diaper my twins. Yes it is an investment at first but after a couple of months you will save hundreds/thousands by doing cloth. I LOVE how this diaper wicks away moisture...I have had to feel the pad at times to see if my babies wet their diaper because it feels so dry...other diapers just had them sitting in that seeping wetness...I feel so confident with these diapers and love showing them off!!

I bought these from my local diaper store, as they sell gently used diapers. They work great! I double stuff with an infant pre-fold for night time and we have NO leaking at all! The velcro does curl slightly, but I did buy these used at a great price so I can't complain. If they would just stick down flat...then this diaper would be perfect!

My baby is 3 1/2 months old and we have been using these since she was born.
She was 8 lb 10 oz at birth. We love these diapers. The only bad thing I
have to say is that you cannot fit too may of them in the diaper bag when
you need to leave the house (we use Flip diapers on the go and keep them in the diaper bag). Never had a poopy-diaper blowout or a rash!

These diapers are the main component of our stash, and if it were up to my husband, they would be our only diaper. We've been using them since my son was 7 weeks old and they are still going strong at 22 months. These diapers are the only ones that we have that are comparable in performance and adapatability to a disposable--they can go anywhere, they last overnight, and anyone can use them without any practice or lessons. The inserts hold a lot of volume. Because they're onesize, they last a long time (though you'll need something else for the newborn stage and possibly the potty training/ older toddler stage). I work full time, and our care providers use these with ease and actually tell the other moms how easy they are and how great they work!
I give them 5 stars because I think that these diapers are among the best out there. However, there are a few caveats. 1) we've had to replace the velcro, starting at about 18 months. It quit holding together on several diapers. Cotton babies provides new tabs free of charge. We are HARD on our diapers though--drying them every two days 2) because the inserts are microfiber, they can be a little touchy to keep clean. I used country save for a long time. We strip with blue dawn and bleach about every 6-8 weeks as needed. I now use Rockin Green Hard Rock and am very happy with that.

I have a few of these and must say they aren't my favorite- but they are a good solid diaper and very affordable. I only give them a 3 bc the velcro is just a PAIN!!!! I had only had them a few months before I made my own laundry tabs for them...and I don't like the ""wear"" that the receiving strip of the Aplix shows either. I have used mine for nearly two years and they just holding up as well as some of my other diapers... I keep hoping they will come out with snaps, but waiting in vain. I would buy more if they did :(
The insert is nice- very absorbent and fairly trim, easy to size and stuff.
The interior fleece lining is very very nice- I wish more pocket dipes used whatever this stuff is because it doesn't pill!!
They haven't made the best overnight solution for my toddler- but that has to be very specialized anyway.
Overall, I guess my beef is the velcro... really awful. If you want a sold affordable diaper and don't mind dealing with 'age' that velcro adds to your diapes than these might be for you. I went out to a fabric store and bought 2"" wide velcro and snipped my own laundry tabs out of it- it worked well, and I stopped getting that nasty 'chain' of diapers out of my dryer;)
As for the sizing- as with most OS pockets, I recommend 3 months and up... they would be too big for a NB. They still fit my toddler nicely and i like that they aren't too 'tall'.

We loved our BumGenius diapers. They really fit so well and are easy to launder. You can stuff them with the inserts provided or use something different if you want to like the LoopyDo or SuperDo and they hold a ton of pee. Definitely a diaper we used a lot when going out for errands and naptime, overnight, etc. Very nice diapers, highly recommended, especially for newbies.

Me and my Hubs bought 4 of the biggest brands of cloth diapers. THESE were one that we got. We have a 2 year old daughter & are expecting our son in June. We LOVED this diaper!!! It didnt leak and fit our slim daughter PERFECTLY! We ended up going with a different brand simply because we felt as though the velcro wouldnt hold up for two children :( I was dissapointed because I DID love that diaper!!! :( If you are diapering just ONE child, I HIGHLY recommend this diaper, [And so does my hubby!!! :D]

I ran a small in-home daycare with three kids.
I was a little concerned when a child came into my daycare at 3 months
old, nearly 4 months old, with cloth diapers. BOY was I concerned!
However, I will be using these with my own children.
1. They leak FAR LESS than Huggies, Pampers, Costco brand and Safeway
brand diapers.
2. FEWER diapers rashes, lasting much shorter time than kids in dispoable.
3. NEVER had to wrap a kid in a dish cloth to get a diaper pack of diapers
from the store. (I had to skip nap time to go to the store with all 3 kids
to get Huggies more than once due to stomach bug, and the forgetful parent
walking out with the diaper bag)
4. To keep a baby in Huggies/Pampers, it cost $1,500 a year for diapers,
wipes, and refills for the Diaper Genie. To keep a baby bumGenius, it cost
$300 a year for diapers, wipes, and to run the washer at the end of the
day.
So $1,500 per child per year, two kids, that is $6,000 and forever in a
landfill. OR that is $500 (including new wipes, and the cost to wash them)
I would rather spend the $500 over the course of 4 years than $6,000.
In the last year, I have had the same 6 diapers on the shelf for the one
child who used them. They are in excellent condition, a little pilly where
the velcro and microfleece meet, but still have at least 2 years left in
them, maybe more. A few liners need to be stripped, bleached upon
occasion, and sun-dried. Again, still fine. NO smells, minor stains, and
WAY CHEAPER and WAY healthier.
I am a fan.

My hubby and I love this diaper. I will use fitteds and prefolds and covers on our newborn as well, but hubby ONLY uses pockets so the bulk of our stash is BG 3.0. I even grab these for nighttime. Our little guy is still only in the 6# range at 5 weeks but these actually fit him. We have NEVER had a leak of bfp or pee like I had DAILY blowouts with sposies with dd #1 and we've been using them since he was brought home from the hospital.
Being they were used by a mom of twins for ~9-12 months of use, the velcro is almost shot on a few but I hear that Cotton Babies has a velcro replacement kit. Will definitely be asking about that. But we can get a great snug fit with the stretch tabs and velcro. Nothing like snaps (which hubby doesn't like).
We use the Cotton Babies one size insert snapped down for night and the small/infant for day use. Those inserts are super absorbant!
I line dry the pockets which literally takes less than a half hour to dry from the fast spin front load washer we use and the inserts we sun out any stains and they dry quickly as well.
LOVE these diapers.

I LOVE THESE DIAPERS!!!
I've been using versions of the BG OS 24/7 for about 2 yrs through 2 children, now 7 & 21 mos. I originally bought a few to try, loved them and increased to a full stock of 24, and got some more when my daughter was born. Even the old ones continue to hold up well. From my calculations, I returned my entire investment within 6 months (comparing the cheapest generic diapers/wipes to BG OS diapers, cloth wipes and detergent cost).
I always wash according to the instructions and rarely go >3 days before washing. I add a splash of PLAIN bleach to each load to eliminate odors/stains. I secure the velcro tabs to the front of the diaper (instead of the laundry tabs) and they hold very well. If they repeatedly come off in the wash, the tabs can curl and snag other diapers making them look worn. I dry in the dryer every time and clean any strings/lint from the tabs so they continue to hold securely. With this OS version, you sacrifice a little extra time stuffing inserts for a shorter drying time, flexibility to increase absorbency, and not needing to buy multiple sizes.
I use a DiaperDekor pail (dry method) and have no odor problems. I use ImseVimse paper liners to catch poo, making it easier to dump in the toilet without rinsing. This isn't a perfect concept given the consistency of newborn poops, but works well most of the time. I've had NO PROBLEMS WITH DIAPER RASHES (except when teething or on antibiotics, not from the diapers).
I’ve had no fit problems not fixed by adjusting the sizing snaps. If the legs are loose, I pull the entire diaper up higher or adjust the snaps one size smaller. They are bulky on a skinny newborn, but still work well, and within about a month they fit well. I did buy a few XS size AIOs to use on special outings, but used the OS version most of the time.
I would DEFINITELY recommend these diapers! Of course, no diaper is perfect for every family, so buy a few and try them out. I plan to continue to

Our BumGeniuses have been just as wonderful as I had hoped they would be. I started using them when the baby was 3 weeks old, just for nights, while using prefolds during the day. The BumGeniuses were so great that I soon switched to using them full-time. They never leak, and after a year and a half of full-time use (I have 16 of them), they're still performing as well as they did when they were new. Not one single problem. I also *love* that they dry so quickly without a dryer. The covers are dry within about half an hour, and the inserts within about four hours.

I love these diapers. At the first sign of the applix not sticking so well (almost 12 months of use), I contacted Cotton Babies and sent all 12 covers in. They replaced them all without any questions and returned them to me within seven days. I feel like I just got an extra 12 months use out of this diaper and will be able to use these with another baby. The inserts were enough to hold in the leaks until about 9 months of age. Then we added babykicks hemp into the diaper pocket (2 of those PLUS 2 cotton babies' inserts fit just fine) and we have no leaks.
I love this diaper. My husband and our moms love this diaper.

These are the second choice diaper in my stash (Haute Pockets are #1) I like them because they never ever leak! I use them almost always for nights and they last the entire night with no problems. I have issues with the smell they start getting after you use them for a while. They start to smell like amonia the secong they get wet. I have found some bum genius odor spray that seems to work well. They are also extremely bulky. Overall they are really good diapers though and I highly reccomend them.

I've bought 6 of these and have been using them on my son sporadically over the last 2 years. I must say that they are my least favourite nappy. When he was a newborn, they were so wide in the crotch and the material was so stiff after stuffing that he looked like he was doing the splits to sleep. The gathers around the thighs somehow rubbed off his delicate baby skin overnight so he had red sores that lasted for days. I had to wear them 'loose' on him so that it wouldn't happen again, which meant that once he started crawling, they were practically useless. The elastic over the legs also wore out after less than half a year. Now I only use them when I have totally run out of nappies to use. I don't think I will be able to use them for another baby because they look really shabby now.

I have been using the 3.0 for the last 4 years. I use them with our skinny 4 year old at night (instead of a pull-up) and with our chunky 2 year old. Our third boy, who we are expecting next month, will be using them also. I love these diapers, but as many of you have noted- the tabs curl and the velcro doesn't last after many washings. We all know that choosing washables over disposables means a bit more work/time, but better for our baby.
No diaper is going to be perfect.
Instead of buying a new set of diapers because the velcro tabs curl- think outside the box! An easy and cheap $2 solution is to go to your nearest fabric store/Wal-mart/ Target and buy a roll of 1 inch velcro that is sticky on both the hook and loop sides. Put the sticky sides together so you have a soft side and a scratchy side. Cut it in half or in thirds, depending on the length, to create a large strap that reaches from one tab to the other. The hook side (scratchy) goes toward the diaper to keep it on and the loop side (soft) faces out and does not scratch your little one. I just attach the large strap to one tab and then pull it across to meet the other side when fastening. Cheap and easy! I have 4 straps and keep one in the diaper bag with my washable wipes. If it works for my two rough boys it should work for you too!

I have been using these diapers for about a month now. I love them, they're super easy to use, and my daughter seems to like them too. She's less fussy in these then in disposables for sure. They are bulky on the baby as she's just hit 3 months. I didn't use them right away as they were too big for her, around the waist and the legs, once she hit about 9lbs is when they fit better.

I'm really surprised with the poor reviews on here - each to his/her own though! I've been really pleased with bumgenius. I have had to replace the tabs and velcro but I expected that with using them for a little over a year. It was really easy to use. I've had some issues with leaking but it's usually b/c my son is drinking a lot of water or at night if we wait too long to get him up. Other than that these have been awesome diapers for us! I also love Cotton Babies' customer service. They've been very helpful whenever I've had a question.

I purchased them for my first child. I am now using them on my second child. Loved them at first but now I am not 100%. They leak a little around the legs. The velcro are now worn out I have to change them. The elastics around the legs are dead I have to change them. All of this is a lot of work. I also wished that the outside was softer.
Fit: 10/10 for over 3 months, waterproof: 8/10 (leak around the legs when you put a weensy on your child), durability: 5/10 (good for 1 child, have to replace things for the second), fabric 8/10 (inner very good, outer not soft), easy wash: 10/10, air dry: 10/10, size: 10/10 for over 3 months

I'm not pleased with the durability of this diaper. I did buy it used so that maybe part of the issue. We are always having leaks around the legs. The hook and loop tape does not hold up very well over time. In the three months I've had this diaper the hook and loop has become awful looking and no longer holds as well. As I said I bought this used, so I'm not sure exactly how old the diaper is. I also have this same brand in fitted diapers and the hook and loop has been okay so far on those, but have the same leaky issues.

I don't understand all the love for these diapers. I have been using CDs for 4 years. We use Chinese cotton diapers with bummis super whisper wraps or tushies covers and they have worked great. We just started washing our own (wasted $ on a diaper sevice before that)when our second child was born and it has been very easy. However, I have been VERY unhappy with these expensive diapers. We purchsed 18 diapers about a year ago at the recommendation of some friends. Unfortunately, these friends told us they washed their bumgenius along with their other diapers, and dried in they dryer, and had no problems. So we washed them this way as well - which included using a baking soda rinse then Ecover gentle detergent (which has plant ""additives"" like fragrance) plus vinegar wash (a system which works great for our regular diapers but I now understand is NOT okay for bumgenius). Our bumgenius diapers have really never worked - they leak instantly and it is not a fit or saturation issue. They are snug on my baby and she is literally soaked through as soon as we put them on. I tried the bumgenius website's recommended wash technique for removing build up - I have now run them through 3 Dawn cycles, 4-5 hot water rinses, and 2 cycles with a recommended additive free detergent (planet) and tried to use them again the other day. In the span of one hour my daughter went through three diapers and three outfits because the pee just came right through. I think because of the improper wash process we have ruined the diapers - water (or pee) literally beads up and runs right off the diaper when I've tested it.
At this point I don't really know what to do, I know the warranty is void. But they were so expensive I'd like to use them if possible. I want to express my frustration about the very special wash process required. It really needs to be stressed that these diapers CANNOT be washed with additive detergents, vinegar or baking soda. And that the covers

I absolutely love these diapers. Haven't had any problems with stink so far - the Cotton Babies blog has a very helpful post on how to combat this if it does become a problem. The culprit is usually the diapers just not being washed well enough, not using enough/the right kind of detergent, not washing frequently enough, etc. I never let my diapers go longer than 36-48 hours without being washed -- it has to help! I didn't start using these until my daughter was 1 y.o., but the fit is absolutely perfect and totally combats poop-outs. The snugness of the elastic around the back and legs is so superior to any brand of disposable. The absorbancy is surprisingly good for a cloth diaper -- she can go up to 2-3 hours with one insert and at least 4-5 hours with a doubler insert -- and she is a heavy wetter. I highly recommend hooking up a sprayer to your toilet for those occasional nasty poops. Ours has really been a lifesaver. Thankfully, ""normal"" solid poops just roll right off. Highly recommended!!

I absolutely love this diaper! I'm quite upset that I didn't use them
earlier. I initially started with prefolds when my son was born, but got
lazy and went to disposables when my husband deployed. My poor baby had
diaper rash after diaper rash so I decided I needed to really go back to
cloth and used prefolds. Just for kicks, I ordered a three pack to see how
they work. My mom, who clothed my sister and I, was more amazed than I was
and made the comment that she wished these were around when we were in
diapers! I just ordered more to complete my set. My son is 14 months old
and 28 pounds. These have been the only diaper that has truly fit him well
and those mean diaper rashes were gone within 36 hours because there is no
moisture on him! They are much more absorbent than any disposable I ever
used and I used them all! :)

Many of my customers love these diapers. Many customers try them as part of my trial pack and then come back to buy a whole bunch. I know they are really popular. They have just never been a favorite for me.
The fit is ok for smaller babies, but the rise is very low on older babies. My 15 month old is outgrowing them and won't be able to fit them much longer. She is only 22 pounds, but tall for her age.
I do not like the covered pocket opening. The little flap catches poop, making it very hard to get the insert out without touching ickys.
Overall, an ok diaper. Very few leaks. A great starter diaper for those who are interested in taking the plunge to cloth diaper. The best thing about these is that they are super easy for disposable users to understand, so they are great for beginners. The price is also good compared to many other brands.
Disclosure: I am the owner of Little for Now and I carry this diaper in my store.

I have been using these diapers almost since my son was born. And they are holding up great, I wash them with either Charlies soap or Country Save, a swirl of dawn soap and sometimes a little bleach to get rid of a little stink, (which it always does). Some of them still look brand new. The tabs don't always stay in the laundry, but they stay on just great when they are on my son and that's what matters. My son wears them at night with two additional newborn inserts and he never leaks. These are the ones that go to daycare and his teachers have never had issues with them. I highly recommend them to everyone, and will continue using them with my next child.

I bought these after trying prefolds and covers...Don't get me wrong I loved the prefolds and covers...but they are a lot more bulky to wear and seemed to be uncomfortable with my son...I LOVE the BG one-size!!! They fit my chunky monkey GREAT!! I have more leaks with sposies than with these diapers....I have not had any problems with stink...like the others have claimed I wash my diapers every other day!! Plus I have the BumGenius Odor spray...works great!! I have a friend that used BG also and she has had hers for 2 years and they still work great!!! She never dried them in the drier I don't either I hang mine it makes the velcro last longer!! THANKS COTTON BABIES!!!

I bought several kinds of diapers when I first started using cloth diapers with my son. I was most excited about BumGenius. The love affair did not last long. The diaper did not wear well and after about 9 months, I had to throw the diaper away. The velcro was useless and the diaper had faded. The pocket was too small and could not be stuffed well for nighttime. I also never liked the fit. When my daughter was born, I received a new BumGenius as a present. Since this was a different generation model, I decided to give BumGenius another try. I threw that diaper away today-- same reason. The second diaper did not fall apart like the first one did, but velcro was shot and the performance was lacking. Very disappointing for such a popular product...

I have eight children. I know diapers. I've tried pretty much all of them out there. Bum Genius OS diapers are a good diaper, they work well for most babies and are a good introduction to CDing for families who previously used disposables.
The suedecloth lining of BG diapers is very good at resisting stains, and spraying the solid waste off a BG diaper is quite easy. Some other diapers, Fuzzibunz for example, do not come clean nearly as easily. The PUL is quite durable and holds up very well to repeated washings. The velcro does wear out, but I've found that to be more of a cosmetic flaw than a functional flaw - and considering it's a diaper - doesn't really bother me.
But the main complaint about these diapers is a very real, very valid and very obnoxious problem. They stink. Badly. And they don't just stink like the pee or poo your child just put into them. The stink is a very unnatural, nauseating, overwhelming smell. I am a grown woman who has dealt with more diapers than most. Diapers don't gross me out nor do I have unrealistic expectations of what a diaper can do. Sometimes they'll leak, sometimes they'll droop, etc. But the microfiber stink from BG inserts is a big flaw that forced me to remove them from my stash. That unique microfiber stink is revolting, and you'll be able to smell it the moment you open the door to your child's bedroom in the morning. Bleaching the inserts does help, but it does not solve the problem.
I think it's great that some people have no problems with the stink issue. I'm envious of them, as I wish I didn't have the problem. BG makes a great diaper otherwise! However, for the many BG users who do have the stink problem, it's usually a dealbreaker.

First, thanks to Punkernoodle Baby for a great consultation and a great local Seattle service. And, no, I do not work for Punkernoodle, and am not a personal friend of the owners (they're nice folks, though).
Now, about bumGenius 3.0. The short version of this review is: ""Buy them."" Buy two dozen, and you will (1) save money on diapers; (2) be done buying diapers for the rest of your child's infancy (provided that you potty train on time); and (3) contribute less waste. Make sure you buy the adjustable model to receive benefit number 2!
The bumGenius diapers are easy to wash, easy to prepare, easy to put on, and easy to take off. They are highly portable, and come with additional pocket inserts for nighttime diapering. You will experience fewer blowouts than with disposable diapers, and (in my experience) fewer blowouts than at least one other pocket diaper model (Haute Pockets).
Another piece of advice: No matter what some of the other reviewers have said, get the velcro-fastened model. If you think velcro wears out, try unsnapping plastic snaps over and over again for almost two years. These reviewers don't know what they are talking about. Velcro is the way to go. It won't look pretty at the end of your diapering, and you may have to replace the velcro if you want to use your diapers for a second child, but it is superior to snaps.
Other reviewers also claim that the diapers are ""stinky."" What do you expect? Your child is soiling them at least twelve times a day. #### it up. In addition, try putting them twice through the wash cycle once a week (you'll be washing them every other day, which is not as big of a deal as it sounds, nor does it detract from their cost-effectiveness). We did this and it brought the stink down. Finally, they really don't get that stinky. Seriously. Once again, #### it up. You are a parent now.

I LOVE bumGenius 3.0 diapers. I was kind of worried when I decided to cloth diaper that I would be sacrificing something for using cloth, either time or performance. Neither has happened. We just went on vacation and had to use disposables. I hated them so much. We had blowouts and fit issues. Never have had either problem with bumGenius. Also, the laundry isn't that bad. We do it overnight and have fresh dipes in the a.m. I would highly recommend the bG 3.0 to any mom!!!

I bought a lot of these when I first started cloth diapering. They worked well the first few months -- they fit my newborn pretty well and have only had one poopie blowout in 7 months, but there have been quite a few compression leaks on her clothes. They really are easy to use and stuff, and a diaper sprayer cleans them in a flash. However, after a while the velcro looks terrible and doesn't holds very well(so much for using all the way to Potty Training) We also have a front load washer and were having a stink issue, but a round of bleach a month on the inserts seems to fix it. I'm sure they will wear out faster because of it though. Overall, they are a pretty good diaper --except for the velcro and microfiber stink.

I like the fit. I like the quality. I like the idea. I hate the stink. I was so excited to have these in my diaper bag. I actually thought I could try to persuade some disposable diaper moms at church to try cloth because these were as easy to use as disposables. I got to the point where I was careful not to let anyone at church hold my baby for fear they'd smell him!!! I only use these at home now.

These are our standby diapers now but we have not always been happy with them. First, we have a front-loader and have struggled with odor issues until we recently tried a bit of bleach. This seems to have fixed the issue but we are wondering how long it will be before we need to bleach again. Sometimes our daughter leaks through them and she isn't always dry to the touch after wetting them. Overall they are a great choice compared to everything else we have tried. We are still hunting for ""THE"" perfect diaper but these come close. They are pretty bulky but I suppose that is to be expected with one-sized diapers.

I was so happy with these diapers when I first purchased them. They fit great, so easy to get on and hold large loads well.
Then I realized, velcro is horrible! Except for a couple of months in beginning, I used them only for pee (as he was pooing in potty) and they look like they are years old. I am only able to use them on my new baby in the house as I'm scared they will come apart. The velcro is curling up and fuzzing and will not hold any more. I am now trying to replace the velcro myself as I don't want to spend a lot more money on new diapers when these are not so old and are otherwise not so bad. We don't own a dryer, so it is just the cheap velcro that was used. Such a waste of money!

I use mostly one-size diapers and these are the only ones where the velcro actually stays on the laundry tab in the washer (the others all come apart meanign they're all stuck to each other when they come out of the washer). I hang the shells to dry and tumble-dry the inserts and both dry rather quickly and look to be in good shape 2 months into use. The suedecloth keeps baby's bum nice and dry, although we have had a bit of staining on one diaper, but that could be because I didn't wash it for 3 days instead of the normal 2.
Stuffing pocket diapers is kind of a PITA, but I have no problem getting the stuffing out of a soiled diaper. I just hold the insert at the top and shake the cover into the laundry and then drop the insert in afterwards. No biggie. When my son goes onto solid foods, we'll start using the flushable liners so less mess going into the washer.
So far, these are my favourite one-size diaper.
I couldn't use them out of the gate because my son was only 6.5 pounds at birth with skinny legs. He was 10 pounds before any OS cloth diaper fit him well enough.

In a word, meh.
These are stock diapers available almost everywhere and do the job okay. The velcro doesn't age well and the microsuede sometimes stains, but in general these hold in the pee and most of the poops and are fine for around the house during the day where diaper changes can happen every two to three hours. The colours are soft and sweet and they wash and dry quickly and easily. Stuffing is a bit of a hassle, but unstuffing after a poop is a huge pain.
We haven't banished them from the stash but they're the last ones we reach for.

I purchased these diapers used from a friend. She had used them for almost 2 years, but they were still usable, so I thought I would give them a try.
I'm fairly new to cloth diapering, so I had been using prefolds and covers, and with my 25 lb. 8 month old that was too much bulk. I hated it.These are super. They fit her very nicely, they are not bulky and she can wear regular clothing over them (she could not with prefolds).
They are easy to use and care for. I wash every other day with Arm and Hammer Essentials Detergent. Cold wash, hot wash, extra rinse. I dry them in the dryer.
Once in a while we have leaks but usually it's because she drank a lot of formula in the middle of the night and she fell back asleep before I could change her.During the day we have never had a leak.
I highly recommend them.

So far this diaper does what it claims to do but I'm just not a fan. I'm new to CD and was trying different types of diapers. This one doesn't get a lot of use from us. I don't like the pocket diapers, too muck of a pain getting everything in there. I prefer prefolds or AIO. I also don't care for the synthetic fibers. They just creep me out to touch them. My baby doesn't seem to care either way although I know some will say babies don't like to feel wet. Maybe the organic would suite me better but the price is just too high and that is a huge factor for us. I've found cheaper options that seem to work great. I will say that it does seem to absorb a great deal and the one thing I do like it for is nighttime diapering. My LO was in it for 8 hours last night and still dry. Haven't had washing, leak, or stink issues but we don't use it that often.

I did not buy any of these on my own because there are soooo many better options plus I started making a few of my own diapers. Even though I can't really sew, I like my diapers WAY better than BG's. I have a couple other typs of diaper and this is the only one that has stained and will not come out. There is nothing especially great about this product in my opinion. The first time I used them baby peed all over himself. The only thing that I like is that there is a snap on the insert to adjust. Otherwise there are similar products on Etsy for much cheaper. Not impressed!

I'm posting this review to give folks a heads-up. I've been dealing directly with customer service for over a month now (I returned my defective diapers and they have made errors in returning them to me three times now--it's been five weeks!). Although they are very nice in customer service, they seem to be having some issues over there, just be warned.
We purchased a whole set of diapers over a year ago and used them religiously. We found them to be wonderful and swore by them. But we had an accident and ruined the whole batch (our fault), so we replaced them. Every single replacement was unusable within three months of purchase. The soft part of the velcro was completely destroyed and we have no idea why. We never put them in the dryer and we checked our water temperature to make sure it wasn't too hot. They were just a mess.
Cotton Babies accepted the return immediately and said that replacements were sent, but this was five weeks ago. Our latest dealing with them tells us the diapers are set to arrive next Wednesday (almost a week from now). It's been an infuriating process. This could be an isolated incident--it's entirely possible that we just got a bad batch (even though they were purchased at separate times, so I'd be surprised) and that this was just a strange occurance with shipping/customer service that caused them to mess up our address TWICE, but I'm just saying that I'd think twice about going with them again. We've spent over $150 on disposables waiting for these ####ers to come back to us! I think we'll try another diaper with kid number 2.

I am glad I waited seven months to post a review. At first, I LOVED this diapers. After 3 or 4 months however, I started having serious odor issues. I tried stripping, sunning, more detergent, less detergent, changed detergent, more rinses... you name it. And the smell after my son peed on the diapers was nauseating.
Then the velcro started to fail. The laundry tabs somehow got ruined. And I line dry most of the time! I have lost count of how many times I've had a diaper chain after doing laundry. The velcro has also ruined several of my bamboo wipes and now they are starting to fray. Now I have either to wash my wipes separately or put them in a lingerie bag.
I e-mailed customer service to request a set of replacement laundry tabs (as suggested by other customers from diaperswappers.com) but I got a reply saying that if unhappy, I could send my diapers for an exchange. I appreciate the gesture but I don't want to use disposables or have to buy more cloth diapers while my exchange is processed. I know diapers are not made from steel, but there is NO WAY these diapers will last me until potty training, let alone another child!
I have purchased from other brands since and I am much happier with snaps and natural inserts. If Cotton babies offers Bumgenius in snaps and with natural inserts in the future, then I'll become a convert.

I decided to CD my third child-a 35 lb. toddler boy-because I was expecting baby #4 who would be CD'd from birth. I loved the idea of a OS dipe so both kids could share, and these were rated so highly (and cute!) I bought a 6 (& got 7th free promo). I prepped all of them and jumped into CD'ing my toddler. To my shock, it didn't work out. They were just too tight on him to wear all day. I also found I hated washing/stuffing pocket dipes. I've tried a lot of different CD brands now and I just don't understand the hype behind BG/pockets.

These are good diapers in general, but not the perfect system. I think it'll be easier if I just separate it into pros and cons.
Pros:
-Very easy to use.
-Fit our son from birth (but he was born nearly 10 pounds. Had he been any smaller, they would not have fit him right away.)
-They look so good.
-They're nice and trim.
-You can stuff them as much as you need, like for night.
-Best nighttime diaper as far as we're concerned.
Cons:
-Price. We bought two dozen of them because we were new to cloth and scared of using prefolds, but in retrospect, we wasted a lot of money since we ended up using prefolds during the day and BG's only for night. Price-wise, this is definitely a PART of a diapering system, not the sum of it for us.
-The velcro, while still functional (minimally), is falling apart after 10 months.
-Would be better with snaps. Our son can get his BG's off with the greatest of ease.
-They will not fit him all the way through potty training. Our son is almost off the charts for height, and is nearly outgrowing his BG's in rise length. He is 10 months old. Luckily he is not our last baby, so we'll use them for the next and get our money's worth, but they don't go tall enough for some babies, so if your baby is really tall, you'll want to consider that.
Over all, we like these diapers, and recommend them for nighttime use, or to augment a system of mostly prefolds. They're just too expensive to use as a whole system, and if your baby grows really fast, they will outgrow these quicker than expected, and you'll have to spend even more money. Great PART of a diverse cloth diapering system, though.

i waited for several months to post a review. initially, i used prefolds until the baby was about 15 lbs. i loved this diaper when we first got them. they look so slick, and i like the materials. however with extended use, the velcro and washtabs have pretty much fallen apart. i was sent new laundry tabs to sew on, but i am not much of a seamstress and this doesn't stop the velcro across the top from freying. i also had one diaper where the PUL layer had separated.now that my child is on the largest setting and 11 months old, i can say that i wouldn't buy these again. i am looking out for something that will be a long term solution, and possibly for future children. i think that an investment in cloth diapers should last longer than 4-5 months of consistent use, then having to deal with imperfect diapers until i throw them away or try and find an alternative. a few wash tabs and no solution to the problem is not my idea of an investment (especially if they likely aren't going to last for the year for which they are warranted)

LOVE our bumgenius one size diapers!! They fit my daughter (3) for overnights--she is daytime potty trained, and my son (1) all the time. We were given these as a gift, and have not had any problems! Well made, fit well--my slender 3 year old and chunky 1 year old wear the same size! Even though aplix can be annoying at times, there is nothing better for getting the perfect fit. These were a lifesaver when my son went through a very squirmy diaper change stage. They are also the only diapers my husband will put on our children. Very happy with the quality, durability, and absorbancy. I also love that you can stuff them with whatever your favorite inserts are--especially if microfiber isn't your favorite :) We had a slight issue with leaking early on, but the customer service was awesome and helped me trouble shoot and now we are always leak free!! Great product!!

These are fairly bulky as they are a pocket diaper, so we use them for night time diapers. They are awesome, as we can go all night without a diaper change & there is no leaking at all.
They clean up easily (we have yet to have a stain) and I love the velcro as it's easy to get her changed.

This diaper is always on the bottom of my stack b/c I just don't like to use it. I definately prefer my BG Organic OS dipes over their pocket dipe. I have twins, both have chunky thighs, one is small waisted and the other has a thick midsection. I just don't ever feel like this diaper is ever snug on my LOs thighs and waist at the same time. The top edge of the diaper seems to roll over and I'm not a fan of the microfiber insert or the hook and loop closure. When snapped down 1/2 of the insert is really bulky. I started using the diaper when my LOs were 8 weeks old and we had leaks(I preped all my diapers according to directions before first use). By the time they were 14 weeks old it fit well enough that it didn't leak anymore, but I've used it off and on through them being 6.5 months old and just never liked it much.

The bumgenius seem to made with high quality materials. I am satisfied with the absorbency of the BG OS insert that came with it. I haven't had problems with leaking. These diapers run a little small. I have to use it on the largest setting for my 22 pound 15 month old. But it fits nice and trim under clothing and all that. I think this diaper could last a long time. The only thing I didn't like about it is that the microfleece liner does not wick moisture as well as I want it to. My daughter's bottom is a little red after wearing this diaper as opposed to other pockets. Also, the opening to stuff the insert is awkward. The flap doesn't lay down nicely. And it would have been nice if these came with snap closure instead of velcro. And one more thing: I like one-size diapers with the adjustable elastic as opposed to the snaps down the front. Overall, these diapers are good but not the best for my family.

I use these as my nighttime diaper only. I found that when they are stuffed enough to prevent leaks that my LO has a HUGE diaper butt- and it hinders her ability to roll, crawl, etc.
However, I love them as my nighttime dipe. They work great. I use the newborn insert and a Little Weed Hemp doubler and have never had a leak- even after 12 hours.
Their quality is ok. I have found that they do not handle well when washed with other aplix dipes. I have already had to re-stitch the velcro- which I was not thrilled with.

LOVE these diapers! They are the best out of all the ones I have purchased!
I wash them on Cold rinse, sometimes a hot rinse (I find that it gets out all the stains this way) and finally a hot wash with half the recommended Nature Clean detergent. I tumble dry on medium heat. I only do the hot rinse if I've had lots of dirty diapers that wash cycle...
Best fit of diaper as well for my little petite baby

We have been using the BG 3.0 for almost a year now. They have held up very
well. I am very impressed with how vibrant the colors are, even after
countless washes and even bleachings. The inside has few if any stains,
and no odors. The hook and loop closures show more wear than the rest of
the diapers, but still stick well most of the time. When I notice them not
sticking well, I just make sure to dry them in the dryer (not on the line
or rack) and the heat helps reset the fibers that make up the hooks and
loops, and they are usually almost as good as new. Also using the laundry
tabs is very important.
I bought 24 diapers (12 white and 12 yellow), so we can use one set while
washing the other. THis has worked out really well and made keeping track
of the diapers quite easy.
We use Charlie Soap to wash and it works well. Also,we used to use a
diaper sprayer to clean of poo, but have switched to flushable liners and
couldn't be happier!
My husband and church nursery workers find this diaper easy to use. Even
for people totally new to cloth diapering, these are almost as simple to
use as disposables. We will continue to use these for as long as they last
us, and will probably but more for subsequent children if needed. Very
worth the value and convenience.

I bought 2.0's, old 3.0's and a newer 3.0 and LOVE all of them. Never had any leaks (and my dd is a HEAVY wetter), very trim, much more adjustable than snaps, and durable. My only ""complaint"" is the fold down tab at the back comes up sometimes. I also love how cottonbabies will send you replacement aplix tabs even if you bought them secondhand! Really nice diaper. Outer fabric and inner fabric feel nice. Snaps are easy to adjust. Velcro is easy to adjust to babies waists.
I am using mine for both my 2 year old and my 8 month old. Fits them both nicely, although I find it fits my 2 year old a bit better.
Great absorbency. Haven't had any leaks. Wash up nicely (even my mother commented!).

These are great, ""trim"" one-sized diapers. I hesitate a bit at the use of the word ""trim"" because I'm not sure if that's the best word to describe the fit. My 2 month-old is 11lb9oz heavy and 23.5in long, and he's on the medium snap setting with a snug fit around his thighs... but the diaper is very bulky on him when he wears them (compared to his nubunz, which are still on the small setting, fit nicely around his thighs, but don't carry as much bulk with the same amount of inserts stuffed inside).
Because they're the most snugly-fit diaper out of his one-size-fits-most diaper stash, they contain even the biggest and wettest messes well... We weren't able to appreciate this fully until we tried using disposable diapers while vacationing (and finally realized what the term ""blow-outs"" meant). The only time we had messes were when the diaper wasn't placed securely on him, and now that they fit snugly, that's not even a problem.
We have a love and hate relationship with the aplix... While they make diaper changes easy for grandpa, grandma, and other people, especially when our baby chooses to be squirmy... they can also make skin-on-skin time (when baby is fussy) somewhat painful when they catch on your skin. Also, you either have to take care to remind people to fold over the aplix onto the laundry tabs when placing them in the laundry, or you have to sort through your diapers before laundering to make sure the aplix are on laundry tabs before washing them.
Overall, though, they're a great economical diaper to invest in, when you consider the following: price, long-term use, user-friendliness, and ""obtain-ability"" (I heard some Target stores carry them).

When I was first introduced to Cloth Diapering, these were all I was going to buy. They seemed to be the least scary option. I really wanted these to work because I didn't want an eclectic stash of diapers, so I tried to ignore the negative reviews these got and focused on the positive ones. However, now I regret getting any. I followed all of the washing instructions perfectly and yet they leak just about every time I use them. I don't have this problem with my other diapers. Also, I found out quickly that I hate stuffing the diapers. I think its easier to just use fitted diapers with covers than it is to bother stuffing these all the time. And, I really hate having to reach into the diaper to pull out the soaked insert to wash them. And lastly, they were too big for my 10 pound newborn, and now that he is 3 months, they are unsnapped to their biggest size already! I can tell they will not fit for too much longer especially since they are so tight around the legs as is. So much for one size fits all.

These diapers don't fit either of my chubby-thighed baby boys! My toddler is 36"" tall and 33 lb, and we can barely get them around his belly. My three-month-old is 25"" and 20 lb, and we can't hardly squeeze him in anymore, either! They leave red elastic marks around their legs! I suppose they'd be a better fit with slimmer babies. I've had better luck with sized (large, of course) diapers and with the Happy Heinys one-size.

I have a love hate relationship with these diapers.
LOVE:
-fit, function, and ease of use.
These are the only diapers I send to the dayhome or Grandma's and I get no complaints. They are ease to use and the fit is great - you can't beat those stretchy tabs!
HATE:
-they stink no matter how you wash them or how often you strip them.
-the velcro wears out so quickly, even when you hang dry the shells
-do not fit up to 35lbs (for my girl anyway - she is 30lbs now and these diapers barely fit)
These make up a large part of our stash, and we are on our second child and our second set of these diapers (doesn't save all that much money if you have to buy a new set for every child). The first set stunk so bad and the velcro was tearing and barely sticky. And they were part of a large stash of one-size and sized diapers, so it's not like we used the same 12 diapers every day for 2 years.
BUT despite all my gripes, these are still the first dipes I reach for because they fit well, they are easy to use, and I rarely if ever get a leak.

Pros:
These diapers really hold the poop in. We had three minor leg leaks while my baby was exclusively bf. Nothing compared to what I remember going through with my older boys who wore disposables.
Adorable. The colors stay bright wash after wash. The insides of my diapers are completely white, all stains having come out of the cover with sunshine.
One size fits (almost) all. You don't have to buy different sizes of diapers, so these will save a ton of cash over sized diapers.
Poop falls off of the suede lining easily. Once my baby started solids, I used the diaper sprayer over the toilet and they clean without me having to touch the yuck.
They're less expensive than disposables. According to my calculations, I made up the cost of these diapers after about 8 months. (Compared to Huggies bought at Sam's Club).
Customer Service is top notch. As you'll read below, Cotton Babies has agreed to replace my whole stash after 11 months because the velcro and elastic are wearing out.
Cons:
The microfiber inserts STINK after several months. Bleaching the inserts separate from the covers every other wash and that seems to keep the stink under control.
You can't use diaper cream with them. If you do get a wee bit of cream on them, it takes a LOT of scrubbing to get those scuff marks off.
When my baby was little, his diapers would leak from the stretchy tabs when he laid on his side I found that NOT changing him before nursing laying down solved that problem. I think when the diapers are dry, the pee doesn't absorb without some pressure, so it kind of rolls out when the baby lies on his side.
After 11 months, the velcro won't stay put and the elastic is weak (resulting some major messes). BUT Cotton Babies has a wonderful warranty. I just called in and they are going to replace my entire stash. Yes, new diapers! (Except for the stinky inserts--I get to keep

I really like the diaper but I hate the velcro tabs. I have not even had a month and the velcro is falling apart. The diaper for everything else is my favorite. I wish this diaper came with snaps or better tabs. The velcro come off the the laundry tabs while in the wash and then get stuff all in the velcro. i pull it all out but they are not sticking and roll up at the ends. I wish i new someone or how to put on my own snaps then they would be wonderful. I rarely have leaks and they fit great so far but Liam my son is one moth old today so I'm not sure they will fit great later. But this is my favorite diaper for the night it keeps everything in. But I change my son every 2 hours after he feeds since he is not sleeping through the night yet.

I know everyone thinks this diaper is great and it is except for one problem, the aplix. After a few washings it starts to pill, fray and it doesnt hold as well. There has been many occasions where one or even both sides of the diaper has come undone UNDER my sons clothing because the aplix doesnt hold strong enough and it's not like my diapers are old. The ones I currently use are less than 2 months old. I just dont feel the quality of this diaper is where it should. I have other pocket diapers purchased at the same time that still look new.
Now for the good stuff. I will say that we have never had a leak with these, even for overnight and they are far superior in that regard. I can always count on this diaper when traveling or naps or whenever changing my son might be prolonged. Since I prefer aplix over snaps I wish the company would remedy this problem then is would easily be a 5+ star diaper.

I really do like my BG 3.0. I have a huge stash of them as they are very easy to use (Daddy friendly!) and I like the pocket type diaper as I think it gets very clean with each washing. I've had no problems with this diaper leaking or pinching my son. The ONLY caveat is that the aplix is pretty much useless after many washings. Thankfully, I found someone to convert all of my BG to snaps so once those come back to me, I'll be back in love with this diaper! It's definately the one I reach for the most!

love this diaper. i have many cloth diapers and this is one of my favorites. i love it b/c 1. it's easy to put on a moving baby. 2. it's super soft 3. it keeps the bottom dry (b/c of the pocket feature)! so, i keep this diaper on my baby longer than other dispers. i think the best feature is the pocket b/c it stays dry longer and the poop rolls off the diaper so i don't need to spray it w/ a hose to take the poop off. easy.

I liked the BG 3.0 pockets a lot for the first handful of months that I used them. I bought them after my baby outgrew the infant prefolds. They were easy to use in the rolling-over-and-trying-to-crawl-away-during-changes phase because of the aplix closure and stretch tabs, and easy for taking along on the go. After a few months I felt like it took to much washing to get the inserts smelling good, so I switched to stuffing with prefolds and that did the trick for a few months. Then I just started having wash many times to get the pockets themselves smelling good. I was using Charlie's and tried switching to Tide Free; that helped a bit but still felt like too much effort to me so I have gone back to all cotton diapers that wash up easier. I think the synthetic fabrics just hang on to odors more. In retrospect, I sort of wish I'd opted for some cotton fitteds with aplix closure (since I liked that aspect of the bumGenius dipes) and covers OR maybe the BG AIO with cotton interiors (which I haven't tried).

If my child were slim I think that I would have liked the Bum Genius 3.0's better; however my child is very chunky and these diapers would not fit him by the age of 14 months. They were too snug and the velcro would cut into his tummy folds when he sat or bent. I do not like the velcro all that much and wish that they had the option for snaps.
If these came with snaps and a more generous sizing then I would totally love them! Sadly, I just cannot recommend them to anyone who may have a chunky baby. If your child is slender then these are definitely a great diaper!

I am new to cloth diapering so I started with the pocket systems and the AI2 systems. I have been using it on my petite 2 1/2 yo and find it to be a good diaper. It's easy to clean/spray off which is a big plus for me due to the messy downside of cloth diapering. The microfiber inserts seem to be very absorbent. The overall fit is good and they are super easy to use. I can tell that the aplix will give out before the rest of the diaper though so I am a bit wary of how long it will hold up with #2 which is on the way. I find it works well as a night diaper so far. It does seem it will be a bit bulky on a smaller baby but don't know that for sure yet. Overall I would classify this as a good workhorse pocket diaper.

I originally tried a bumGenius 3.0 (suede cloth) in a sampler pack. It wasn't my favorite diaper because of the suede cloth, but shortly after, they introduced the limited edition fleece. I purchased 2. I still have all 3 diapers.
The bG is not my favorite pocket, but I think it is a good diaper. The fit is fairly trim in terms of pockets. I also love the OS insert that comes with it. I also have found that the included newborn insert is great as a doubler on top of hemp inserts. The fleece in the limited edition bGs is very nice. It's thick and stays soft against baby's skin. What I'm not so crazy about...1) there are only 3 rise settings, 2) the aplix tabs aren't as roomy, so there isn't as much crossover/room for growth, and 3) the aplix also tends to get kind of stringy and pilly around the diaper fabric. I haven't had any problems with the tabs coming undone in the laundry though.
At the end of the day, I like the bGs enough to keep them in regular rotation. However, they are not my favorite diaper. I typically save them for going out when I know I will want something trimmer yet still quite absorbent. I wouldn't tell someone not to get them, but I would advise them to try just one first.

I LOVE these diapers. I switched from Kushies and the difference is amazing. I have not had stink or leak problems. I think this is because I've followed the washing and drying instructions. They are not overly bulky and the inserts are super absorbant.

We have a real mix of different diapers, and we decided to try a few of the one-sized diapers to throw in the diaper bag, since we have two children of two different ages in diapers. I have to be honest and admit I wasn't keen on the idea of one-sized diapers to begin with, since I felt it was a lot to ask of one diaper.... to function perfectly with so much wear for so long... anyhow, they did provide the flexibility we needed for the diaper bag, not having to pay attention to what sizes we were throwing in there as we rushed out the door. Since we do use them so rarely, we have not had the stink issues that seem to be problematic with every other diaper we own with the microfiber inserts... but these are the only diaper we have had staining issues with. We have managed to fade most stains with plenty of sun-time, however I am curious what sets these apart form the other pocket diapers that never stain for us? I loved how trim they fit, however they did not fit my older child well past 2.5 years, and she is not overly large. I would only reccomend these as an occasional use diaper... but use other diapers such as bummis or other natural fiber diapers to mkae up the bulk of your diaper collection!

This diaper is what got me hooked on cloth diapering full time. I loved them AT FIRST and enjoyed the ease of use.
I don't have much to add because I agree with most of the negative reviews of this product, but I would encourage any mom researching cloth diapers to TRY the diaper for at least a month. Maybe more if you are thinking of plunking down a couple hundred bucks for a full stash. Be patient! What works for another mom might not work for you, your budget, or MOST IMPORTANTLY your baby!!

These were our go to diapers for errands, naps, nights, and family members. They were great for a while, but then we had stink issues with the inserts. No problem, I switched to cotton prefolds. Now my son is starting to get sensitive to the suedecloth when he gets too hot. There goes errands and nap time. Now they just sit in the basket on the changing table. I have some of the organic cotton AIOs and would much rather have a couple more of those. I am in the process of replacing them in our stash.

I have waited a LONG time to post this review. I wanted to test the life of these diapers before saying anything...
I experienced the honeymoon phase with my bunGenius as pretty much everyone does. For the first few months you can't believe a sole on earth would use anything other...
Then a little stink starts. No big deal. I went through numerous detergents and washing routines. I called cottonbabies several times for advise. I finally found something that seemed to work for us and have not had as much difficulty.
Then the tabs start sticking a little less. This is a more annoying problem. My daughter would bend over and *pop* off came a side of her diaper. UGH! We again called cottonbabies and they replaced the defective diapers... sadly the replacement have started having problems.
Lets not forget the elastic giving. Our elastic around the legs started to give somewhere in the 18-24 months range. No longer could I count on leak-free events. I actually quit putting her in a BG to go out in public. I want to promote cloth diapers... nothing like soaked clothes to turn people away.
We were never able to use BG's at night. Our daughter was a heavy wetter at night and we woke up many a night laying in pee. Aristocrat wool covers became our best friend!!!
Sadly, we've not used BG exclusively. I might have been expecting this if we only used BG, but they were just part of the rotation with several different dipes.
Overall??? They're a fabulous diaper to hook people into cloth diapering. They will work like a charm for many months. Long term expectancy has not be what I'd hoped for, but who knows, the next generation of BG's may exceed the older generation!!! (We used 1.0 - 3.0)

I started using BGs on my son when he was 3 mos. old. I really love the ease of use for travel and day care. Had no problems for a while, but after about 12 mos. of use the elastic around the legs wore out completely on many of my BGs. I always was very careful to wash/dry them according to manufacturer's specifications. For the ones with elastic still in tact, after about 15 mos. of use, I began to have serious leak issues. I have tried stripping with little success. Also, I have a large rotation of diapers including prefolds and FB, so BGs are not the only diapers I have been using. I agree with what others have said - a one - size diaper needs to withstand 2-2.5 years of use. I really want to make these work and use them for my next baby, but am getting frustrated with the frequent leaking and clothing changes. I have had no Aplix issues, that has held up fine!

i see some complaints about velcro tabs on the reviews below. yes... it probably won't last as long as metal snaps, but I love velcro tabs, especially for night when i am changing in the middle of the night. it's convenient and fast. great for my wiggly baby. And this is my husband's favorite cloth diaper. So, easy for anyone to use. This diaper keeps the baby dry and doesn't leak. great for night time and traveling when i can't change the diaper often. Also, the velcro tabs last longer and better quality than other cloth diapers that i own.

The fit is really great and the only front-fastened pocket diaper that never wing-drooped on my daughter. Inserts are very absorbent and I like the adjustability of them. Suedecloth stays really soft and looks new for vey long. I also liked how trim they are. All in all, a very reliable diaper.
BUT, the velcro thing is a real pain. It starts looking worn out after only a few washes and soon it curled up at the ends. Also, I was never able to use the medium size setting, the snaps always opened after a couple of minutes. That was not a real problem for us, bc. it also fitted OK in the large setting, but I can see it become a problem for some. It is also somewhat small in my opinion. My daughter is tiny and skinny, so it was great for her, just can't imagine a BIG baby/toddler fitting it.

I bought these diapers for my son, though he could not fit in them immediately ( he was only 5lbs ) I started using them when he reached 7 and found them to work wonderful. We have since changed to only cloth diapers for both my son and daughter. I have 2 children in cloth diapers and think that bum genius is one of the best brands out there. They are easy to have ready to go when someone else is caring for baby, easy to have on the go in a diaper bag, and most importantly easy for me to keep clean. I toss wet ones in the diaper pale, and simply dispose of solids after baby soils it and rinse with a hose in the washtub. My diapers have held up to everythin and have been a godsend for my daughter who suffered constant yeast infections and diaper rashes when is sposies! It is also great that they have fit me infant son all the way through to my 30Lb daughter!

Twice I bought a full dozen diapers and tried to make these work. I have soft water and used Charlie's Soap. It didn't matter. They stunk after only two weeks of use. The applix lost it's ""sticky"" and I was crying and frustrated having spent so much money (twice!). I sold them all, switched to Gro Baby, and haven't looked back!

We spent a lot of money on these diapers only to find that they will not last our child much longer. The elastic is fine for us a few months in but the velcro is already looking very worn, not the sign of the quality we expected. They look like a good investment for the fisrt year but not much longer. Needless to say we're disappointed and had hoped for a longer lasting product for the price we paid. We won't be investing more in this brand.

Easy to use, VERY leakproof, and seems to fit a lot of babies well. A great AIO for those that do not want to buy sized diapers--you can use these from birth to potty training, although I found them quite bulky for my 7lb newborn. I waited until about 9lbs to start using them. And I think they outperform a lot of other AIOs out there in the leakproof category. The only reason I give it a 4 is that it is so hard to clean in an HE washer. I have lots of different brands and styles, and for some reason this one seems to be the hardest to rinse and keep clean. Using vinegar in the prewash seems to help a lot. Otherwise, I can't complain. A very convenient diaper!

I really like these diapers but I cannot give them a 5. They are very high maintenance and need a LOT of water to get clean. First, you must spray off sticky poo into the toilet. Since I use a wet pail for the inserts, I do a pre-rinse. The wash instructions call for two full wash cycles and an additional rinse.
The other reason that I say they are high maintenance is because you cannot use any skin-care products on the baby with a BG. Every time I used a BG with a liner and rash cream, my son's rash would get worse. Therefore, I had to stop using these diapers until well after the rash cleared up - over a month!
However, BG's fit well, have no leaks and are easy to get on baby.

I really like these diapers and the lure of one size is very appealing, though tends to be bulky compared to sized aio's & pockets. The liner stays fairly dry and the doubler is great for night. We have had no leaks & no red marks. I find myself grabbing these (now that I have a few) instead of other diapers. Plus, I tend to like velcro instead of snaps as its more adjustable for the fit of my LO.

*Quality-Great!
*Absorbancy-excelent!!!,use as night time diaper double stuff w/two large inserts(one that comes with diaper)I also purchased extra for stuffing! great for everywhere!
*Size....I would like to see the size more like HH's it's more roomy. But fits both my 22lb 9month old and 34lb 3yr old!
Leaks....very few!:-)(mommy error)lol!
One of the reasons we switched to cloth was terrible red marks on baby and toddler...and most importantly disposables were awful at ""NOT"" containing poops!
I was cleaning more ""clothing"" and ""babies""...all the way from neck to ankles...no joke!! (when at a funeral ,no less, our sweet baby pooped right through the disposable and it went all the way down her legs and up to her shoulder blades)I'd had enough! Grrrr....I may as well be cleaning a silly diaper!
So when we started using BG's I was so excited that the poop's and pee's were staying contained were they are supposed to be. I've never had poop blow out of these. Very satisfied.
----I also agree with other mom's about liking to see snaps! and I'd add a couple centimetres to the diaper.
---- I'd prefer a front pocket to a back one...the front is usualy less messy!
---- I also prefer the BG's micro-suede as it does not pill and stays soft!
I've found that fleece once it's lost it's fluffiness leaves the pill imprint on my babes tooshies.
All in all these few minor things don't deter me from giving this product a 5.
Side note....I clean aplix every use...and the diapers are in great shape.

Aplix are easy to use for babysitters and grandparents. The rise is short in my opinion (my 5 month old is on the highest setting already). Great design item is the PUL over the top of the diaper to prevent belly leaks (wish I could find that in a dipe with longer rise). Overall, a great diaper for cloth newbies!

The bumGenius one-size was one of the first cloth diapers we purchased and so far it has performed perfectly. The whole cloth diaper world was a little intimidating in the beginning, but the bumGenius is so easy it makes cloth diapering a cinch. Its really great to use when I leave the baby with grandparents or even daddy. I would *highly* recommend the bumGenius to anyone who is going to cloth diaper. Even if you are primarily going to use a different type of diaper, its good to have a few bumGenius dipes on hand for those times you need something fast and simple.

I started cloth diapering when my son was almost 16 months because he started having horrible diaper rash with disposable diapers. I had never even considered cloth because I didn't know anything about the ""modern"" cloth diaper until I felt I had exhausted all other options. He has not had diaper rash since I switched to BG 8 months ago. I use them during the day with the regular insert and at night with the regular insert plus 2 newborn inserts and I have never had a leaking problem. He has always been in the 97-99th percentile in height and the 50-75th in weight and they fit great. He is now almost 2 years old. I highly recommend this product, especially if you are nervous about cloth diapering because they are so easy to use and easy to wash. I'm now considering them for my next baby due in October, although I'll probably start with prefolds and covers for the first few months.

I loved this dipe from the moment we started using it. I had no leak issues, and I didn't mind the bulk. However, when I started to use it more frequently because of daycare, I did begin to have leak and velcro/aplix issues. I admit to making the mistake of using diaper salve (Northern Essence) which probably caused the leak issue, and have since thoroughly stripped the diapers. That said, my boy is a super soaker, and this dipe with both inserts does not make it through the night with him which is disappointing. I did contact the customer service desk at Cotton Babies, and while the leak issues are not covered under warranty, the velcro issues are. I am, therefore, returning all of my BGs to them, and will be going to a fitted/cover solution for my boy. I have sworn off aplix. I wish these diapers came with snaps - only the OC ones do. Cotton Babies customer service was very helpful by providing me detailed instructions on stripping the diapers, and overall, they were extremely professional. I was so looking forward to using BGs as my son's primary daycare and nighttime dipe, and I'm disappointed that I cannot.

Like many others have said, I really wanted these to work becasue they are so adorable. But what a disappointment. The very first time I used these, they wicked out of the leg and in front and in back. I tried them on my 8 lb baby and they did not fit. When he was 12 lbs, they wicked again.
I called Cotton Babies and they said basically I am SOL- their warranty does not cover leaking issues (nevermind I stripped the heck out of these diapers and they had been repelling water since the day I got them- I have never used diaper cream, lotions, etc). A bit odd since these are the only pockets out of all of our FB, HH, and Blueberry's that leak- our others work like a charm adn they are all washed together. What a rip off. I ordered 9 of these and now I am stuck with them and out a lot of money. The ""manager"" said she'd call me back with more stripping ideas and , not to my surprise, I have never heard back from her. Terrible diaper and terrible customer service! I do NOT recommend these diapers!

I initially rated these highly, but now after 18 months of use, they have just fallen apart. The elastic is shot resulting in large gaps and consequently large leaks. The velcro won't stick to the laundry tabs or keep a firm grasp to the diaper itself so all my daughter has to do is give it a gentle tug and the whole diaper falls off. I bought close to 18 diapers of the new and the upgraded version and so far 5 of the diapers are shot and the rest aren't far behind. If you think you are going to use these diapers for more then a year then I would highly recommend fuzzi bunz. They work today just as nicely as the first time I put them on her. Although admittedly, the fuzzi bunz have had half as much wear on them due to the different sizes. The bum genius were wonderful and did the job better then fuzzi bunz but they haven't been able to hold up. If you make a diaper as one-size fits all then they should be able to last 2 to 2 and a half years.

I like these dipes for going out, they keep the wetness away from DD's skin. Overall quality is good, though I agree about the aplix--if I used mine more it would probably be fraying. However, Aplix makes for quick changes on our squirmy DD.
I'm glad we only bought one to try. I don't see it lasting until potty training, and she's in the 5th percentile at one year, and 2 months ago was on the largest rise setting. You might get your money's worth if you buy these when they're younger, but there are other one-size dipes with longer rises.
This didn't work overnight. DD leaked out the top b/c there's no elastic on the front and the pocket flap can open. Pockets that have elastic at the waist work better, they create a seal to avoid leaks.
These aren't as trim as some CDs when used with both inserts, but they're better than PF.

I just love my BG's! I orginally had hh's but I found that they didnt fit my little guy well and they leaked. My friend told me to get BG's but they are really expensive in Canada so I bought some and got them shipped to my sister in law in the states. I couldnt wait to try them. I finally got them and from the first time I put them on my little guy I was hooked! I love the suedecloth as opposed to the fleece as fleece pills and looks horrible. I like the fact that these dipes look just as new as when I bought them. I have never had a leak and my little guy sleeps for over 12 hours at night. I only have to use the larger insert too! I have used only 12 for the last month...so washing has been fun..lol but I have 12 more coming on monday and im super happy about that. I cant say enough great things about BG's! I just wish they were priced similar to what they are in the states...even with the exchange rate I still save about 50-60 dollars on 12 by buying them in the states and having them brought over.

We LOVE our BG pockets. We bought the fleece kind and it's great when they poo because it doesn't stick. Holds in my babies most explosive bf poos. I gave only a 4 because I don't like microfiber inserts, I much prefer a MF & hemp combo like the blueberry insert. I also do not like that they don't come with snaps :( Wake up BG and make all your dipes with snaps for us snap mommas! I think the aplix wears rather fast and causes yucky pilling. I take excellent care of my dipes and am already running into these issues and I have only had my dipes for two mos! But the fit is great :)

I do like the fact that these dipes don't leak and come in cute colors. THe inserts are also nice. THat said, these diapers just aren't for us. Initially, they were fine but as soon as my son's thighs started to chunk up, they started to leave red marks (even on the highest rise setting). The velcro doesn't hold up well either and they are bulkier than other diapers we have.

These are good diapers. I would give them a 5 if they had snaps! I do not like aplix at all! The fold-over laundry tab do not hold the other tabs anymore...so they are getting ruined in the wash. They are a good dipe, they would be 100% for me if they had snaps!

I use this mainly for overnight cloth diapering because it's superabsorbant and the outside where my baby's bottom touches the cloth feels almost dry even with all the inserts inside the diaper are soaked with urine. I put like 3 or 4 and I don't change my baby's diaper for like 10-12 hrs. When he wakes up, the diaper feels dry, but inside, all the inserts are soaking wet. I NEVER had a leak with this method. If I use this diaper during the day, esp for grocery shopping or when I'm out and about, I use like 2 inserts inside. NEVER leaks... But I don't use it all the time cuz after doing laundry, it's kinda annoying to find the inserts and put it inside a pocket. OK, I'm lazy.

I love to use these for trips out and about because they are quick and easy. They work very well, and I've only had one blowout with these. They are my favorite pocket diaper, but not my number one dipe either. They absorb great and I've had no problems using these for overnight either. My only real dislike is they are a bit bulky, but what can you expect from a onesize diaper, and the suedecloth seems to be a bit irritating to my baby's bum, so we only use them for errands for their ease, and not on a regular basis. I'd say get a few for when you're not at home, but I wouldn't use these as my main diaper system.

I really wanted to love these diapers. They are SO CUTE and fit so trim, but then after using them for a while I started having some problems with them. First the velcro started to fuzz up and the tabs didn't stay closed very well. Then, When my daughter's thighs chubbed up, the velcro tabs started to cut into her skin.
I do not recommend these for chubby babies. But thinner babies should be fine.

I have been using the 2.0 version since my son was about 6 months old (he's now 26 months). These have been really great for that this time period. Just within the last month or two has the Velcro gotten problematic on a few of them and I'm going to go ahead and sew new Velcro on them myself because they're so great. We haven't had any blowouts, but we don't use them at night because they leak with my son's heavy wetting (a doubler might help, but we haven't tried it). I love that I can wash them in hot water and dry them on medium heat with no problems. I also used diaper rash creams every once in a while with them and haven't had any staining that lasted more than two washes. In fact, they haven't stained at all over the 20 months we've used them. I was a little worried about them fitting for long when I had to switch to the largest size fitting at an early time, but they have had no problems fitting him for a long time after that. I had no problems with a variety of detergents, but the 3.0 version might be different since it's different fabric.
Only problems are the following: I need more if I'm going to use them for a newborn because I only got 9 of them to begin with and you need to wash the whole thing every time you change their diaper. My husband's big hands don't fit into the pocket so he never stuffs them (he can't do it). The Velcro wears out after about 18 months of use (not bad really, but snaps might be nicer for long-term or multi-kid use).
I'm currently trying to figure out what to do for the new baby who's coming sometime in July-August since my son is not potty trained yet and I don't have enough of these diapers anyhow to work well for one infant, let alone an infant and toddler. I'm probably going to get fitted diapers in the smaller size for the NB and some Thirsties covers, replace the Velcro on my BumGenius diapers, and maybe get a few of the new BumGenius diapers to supplement as my son is pott

We love bumGenius! diapers! The new colors are so gorgeous. They fit great, don't wick (even after 12 hours overnight - wow!), are easy to use, trim, and don't leave any red marks!
I've heard that they stain for some, but we haven't had any staining. However, we use a Mini-Shower.
A note about wicking - we switched to a front loading washing machine, and switched detergents at the same time. About a week later, we experienced wicking and a lot of leaking for the first time. We finally switched back to regular Tide, and just use less for our HE washer. Since we switched back, the wicking stopped. So, if you're having any leaking, I would highly recommend switching detergents. bumGenius! diapers are the most leak-free diaper we've ever tried, hands down.
They seem to start fitting babies around 12 lbs.
We also experienced wicking when using any Free or Clear detergent (like Tide Free, All Free and Clear, Method). These diapers are the most leak-free diapers we've ever tried. But, use the wrong detergent, and the suedecloth becomes like a rubber sheet! The Free and Clear detergents also seemed to make the velcro less effective.
All in all, a great diaper and they really save a lot of money! I'm not sure if they would fit toddlers with super long rises. My husband loves them! :-)

I cannot say enough about these diapers!! They are absolutely amazing! I wasn't sure if i could handle cloth diapering and they seem to be pretty expensive so I only ordered 3 to start with. I have NEVER had any leaks and they have held up wonderfully. Other people have posted that they've had issues with smells but if you take proper care of the diapers you won't have any problems at all. I also bought the Bum Genius odor spray and that may be what helps. I also have had no issues with staining on the actual diapers. The inserts will slightly stain but when you run them through a wash with a little bleach like the instructions say to do once a month, all of the stains are removed. I am VERY impressed with how well they keep my son dry. I usually have to feel the insert to tell if it's wet because the diaper feels pretty dry. I LOVEEE these diapers and because of them have switched strictly to cloth diapering!!!

We bought these on a recommendation from a friend, who is still using hers on her 2 year old. We love them, and consider them the best baby investment so far. We have around 36, which was rather pricey up front, but is all we've spent on diapers so far. They rotate between my house and my mom, where baby is during the day. I am pretty sure my mom doesn't strictly adhere to the washing instructions, but I haven't seen any negative effects on the diapers. We use Aveno diaper rash cream occasionally, which hasn't effected absorbency. There is really no staining so far, and poops usually peel off into the toilet w/o much effort.
The only couple drawbacks I've noticed is that night time diapers are pretty stinky in the morning, and the aplix looks slightly worn on a few (more on the yellow). This doesn't bother me in the slightest, and they continue to work just fine. I expect we will be able to use them for a good long time still.
I am a little sad that they started making them in brighter colors AFTER I bought our stash, and I really can't justify buying any more.

I wanted these to be my favorite diapers. I will say we never had leaks and they fit my daughter well. These were our overnight and out in town diapers. I take very good care of my diapers and the inners were so stinky and the velcro and laundry tabs do not hold up well at all. I ended up selling all of mine to get some with snaps. If they make a BG with snaps that doesn't get all stinky, I'd probably love it!

I only have a few of these, but really wish I had more! They are bulletproof. I have never never had a leak in a BG. I know I can put my guy in one of these and trust it not to leak.
I can't say enough good things about these diapers. I highly recommend them!

These diapers are the best (from what i have tried). They fit small through large so you are saving money that way. plus the velco is really nice...but if they made snaps i would be really really happy. since velco will and can wear out after a while. i haven't had leaks until this month, and i am not sure if its something i washed them in or my son is super pee boy. but either way they hold the poo in really good.

Absolutely love these diapers! They work great for nighttime, never have had a leak. Completely contain ""blowouts"". First diaper I choose, they are the trimest pocket diaper. Just as easy to put on as disposables which my husband loves. Terrific diaper, still no problems and going strong after 5 months and every other day washing.

These diapers seem great when you first put them on -- they are easy to put on, fit well and don't leak. They come with two inserts, and using both prevents leaks at night, too.
Unfortunately, they don't hold up, and the manufacturer is not up front with care instructions, nor does it stand up for their product.
Note the following IMPORTANT restrictions to follow should you decide to use the diapers:
1) NO diaper creams or they will stop the diaper from absorbing. If you need to use one for a rash, you will need to use the smaller insert outside (between the baby and diaper) and then wash it separately from the diapers. This means having two diaper bins AND running 4 loads of wash each time because you need to wash each item twice, first in cold and then in hot water.
2) Watch the detergent use. No detergents with enzymes, which includes Seventh Gen, etc, or the elastic will break down. I bought Country Safe after finding this out.
3)Must wash at least every other day or the urine will break down the elastic.

I rate these a 5 despite the fact that by 10 months (24 +lbs and 31+ inches)we will be close to grown-out of them. They are supposed to fit up to 35 lbs, but I realize that they are talking about the average baby, not very tall babies. These have been my go-to diaper, they don't leak, unless the babysitter puts the newborn liner in by mistake. They go all night with no leaks, and they are great for going out in, because I trust them not to leak. They, like all cloth diapers can be bulky, but they are much trimmer than some. I am very sad we are outgrown them so soon. They have fitted really well and are easy to clean and easy to stuff.

We love these diapers! They are absorbent and hold in newborn blowouts like a dream. Our LO has been sleeping through the night for three months now, and a cover with both included inserts inside the pocket keeps her dry for 10 hours. Very husband-friendly, too. Our tall 15 lb 5-month old has been wearing these since birth, and the diapers are still on the first setting.
The only problem we had was when my father-in-law decided to help with the laundry, and threw the dipes in the dryer (we hang dry usually) with FIVE fabric softner sheets! Ack! It was leak city after that. We contacted Cotton Babies, who promptly responded and told us to try washing with Dawn, and it completely saved our diapers. Thanks, Cotton Babies!

After using this product for a while I discovered my kids had a suedecloth sensitivity. This was after multiple strippings, changes in detergent.. tweaking of my wash routine.. Everything. I took the BG out of my rotation completely and have not had one issue since. I sold every last one of them which was fine. The aplix was falling apart and they did NOT fit my 30lb toddler in the least. There are much better one size pockets on the market if you ask me. I know BG came out with a fleece lined pocket, but you could not pay me to buy another aplix diaper. Too much investment to buy them and convert them myself.. when I can buy something with snaps already. I am glad to be rid of them now. I like other BG products for my youngest (the organic aio).. just despise the pockets.

Love these diapers!! They are the first and only ones I have tried but they work so well. She is BF so has loose stools and these hold everything in. She is 14lbs and still on the small setting (comes up to her belly button) so I think they will last us for a while, they fit her shape perfectly (I have a problem with sposies fitting her she has to wear a size 3 to fit her right) We both fell asleep at 9pm the other night and she only had 1 insert in, at 7am no leakage, I said kudos to the BG makers :)

Very disappointing for me. I would recommend buying 1 to try before investing heavily in them. Luckily I did just that because my son gets a terrible rash from the inner liner which is not the soft fleece of other pocket diapers. Also the inserts are not very absorbent and there are way too many buttons on the diaper and liner that make me uncomfortable just looking at them. I did like that they came with 2 inserts which is very cost effective.

There are many great things about this diaper -- just make sure to try them before you plunge into buying a whole stash like I did. It seems that my baby is allergic to the polyester fabric and always gets a rash when we use these. It's too bad because in terms of style, fit, absorbency and overall quality, they are great (no blowouts!). I've tried everything to see if it is ""user error"" that's causing the rash - but we've switched detergents a handful of times, change him frequently, never use creams -- and still the rash. Now we've now switched to using the old fashioned cotton diapers with Thirsties covers. This works GREAT, no rashes or any irritation. This system has another benefit over the BGs - with BGs, there is so much to wash since the fairly bulky covers must be washed each time. This creates more work and lots of water waste. With Thirsties, you can reuse the cover a handful of times before it needs washing. I also like how Thirsties are US made, unlike BGs.
We still use the BGs here and there, so they are nice to have for those rare occasions (babysitter etc.) BUT given how much they cost, and how rarely we use them, I feel like I wasted a bunch of money.

This is a very well made and extremely absorbant diaper.
I have a hard time getting the microfiber inserts clean. I have to do 4 wash cycles to get the stink out. My LO is also sensitive to the suedecloth. I have since switched to all cotton diapers.

I have 3 LO using these dipes. 19mo twins, & a 6mo old. They fit my 6mo very well, and 1 of the twins who is 25lbs. They DO NOT fit the bigger one, he's 30lbs. The rise is way too short, I had to buy a diff. brand that has a higher rise. They also leave red marks on all their backs and legs. I had issues w/ the PUL separating from the fabric, and cottonbabies has an AMAZING return policy on their products. They have been great to work with. Overall, I'm happy with them. They seem to clean better than the BG deluxe aio since you can take out the stuffing. We've not had any major issues with leaking or odors.

Before buying these, I read all these great reviews, I own 8 of these, they are the only pocket diapers I use so far. They are good for night time use, keeps my baby's bottom dry. Washing them is kinda a pain in the butt. The aplix/velcro tabs are already starting to look a little ratty. I feel like I waste so much water washing these, they need to soak for a while to get stains and smells out, and an extra rinse is always needed. I use Planet detergent. I really can't imagine these lasting up to 35 lbs. But over all it's an OK diaper

I like this diaper quite a bit for a pocket style. It's been a diaper bag staple for outings since day one and has fit well for 10 months now, plus it still looks great. We don't use it daily, but have used it about as frequently as the Happy Heinys One Size we have and suedecloth has held up better than the pilly fleece on the HH.
I'm not sure if it will really last through 35 pounds considering that the rise already seems on the low side for my 10 month 20 pounder (the HH prevails in that area), but when she was very small this one size fit her the best. I like that it came with two inserts. I have other pockets that came with hemp inserts and since my daughter wets more heavily now I put microfiber inserts on top of a natural ones these days anyway so I still get use out of both.
I like to use a bamboo prefold under the big insert in this for nights or naps, I think the suedecloth does a good job of keeping dd feeling dry. I've heard others say that the laundry tabs come undone but I haven't had this problem, we always put it in a mesh bag to wash anyway.
I do wish it came in snaps, hopefully this is coming now that the organic does.

This is a decent diaper, but it is not my favorite. I am not a fan of the Velcro at all. After just a few washes, it already looks beat up and worn out. They do stay attached to the laundry tabs, though. The colors are fun. I would love this diaper if it had snaps! I have never had a leak, not even at night. If the Velcro was better, I'd be in love.
